It's really fun to see tool assisted gameplay of sports games. It was hilarious when you kept running at sonic speed to foul after making the first long jump and triple jump.

I had a gameshark code which gave me even more speed than in this video, it was hilarious, for long jump I managed to jump into the crowd and for javelin I threw it outside the stadium haha

I had this game back in 96 n could hit these times n distances, although gotta say my fastest 100m time was 6.66s whereas this guy got 6.37s, however I never used anything but my thumbs for running n jumping, n my index fingers fir throwing events. Best athletics game of all time.

When you vibrate the pad off of your thumbs fast enough it says using trick.... I used to play against the Explorer cheat cartridge.... It would do swimming in 9 secs and throw javelin out of the stadium...

I love the 4th place guy pounding the ground next to the podium. That must be Ryan Lochte.

Impossibility these days. They've changed the javelin in such manner that it won't fly so far

i did this 100 meter sprint in around 4-6 seconds 21 years ago on a plain regular playstation 1 without any cheat or help, 9,58 is world record in real life.

Running Hurdles is like putting a scorpion inside Lord Farquaad's pants.

Even Lindsay Wagner from The Bionic Woman can swim 3 meters a second. 10.8 km/h is the fastest swimming speed for a man or woman swimmer.

Not at all... If you hold the pad correctly you use the vibrations through button bashing (X and O) r1+r2 to throw.... But this guy is using something... The xplorer cheat cartridge did swimming in 9 seconds and javelin threw it out of the stadium,

Don't forget the question mark. The game simply wonders as the 'impressive' level was exceeded. I ise to get this a lot. I found using circle and triangle the most optimal and would shake the pad at like warp speed connections!

This is what it would have looked like if the Russian athletes were allowed to compete in the 2016 Olympics.

FuchsiaMuffin Too bad I don't have the game anymore. I'm curious to see whether I ever had that "Using trick?" message. I am insanely good at button mashing and my times were really close to those of the TAS. I never paid attention to that message tho lol

I used to have that message pop up when I played. I was able to do the 100m in 6.60 WITHOUT a turbo controller. Some my event scores were better than this video. Hammer, Discus and I think we have a tie on LJ.

2.80m is the maximum regular height in High Jump and it's not that hard to beat. My own 100m record was below 7 seconds as well, I used a plastic lighter to "mash" the two buttons and it left some permanent marks on my controller. Good times. Also notice that his Shot Put angle (41°) isn't perfect.

Using gamebuster codes ...boring. On every discipline the power/speed increases without any dumps and stays perfectly at the highest value. Even at 110 hurdles where you need to push another button simultaneously...
