Ecco the Dolphin is a game where you control a fast, but hard to maneuver dolphin who travels into hostile environment to save the other dolphins after a freak waterspout storm.
This run improves the previous one (tasvideos.org/453M) through better execution, a new route and new glitches. As in the previous run, damage is avoided, as it almost always slows Ecco down. At the same time, a major new glitch allowing Ecco to go through nearly any wall was not used because the frequency of its use would make the run very repetitive.

Crazy storyline!
I can't imagine how I was able to complete this game on a console 20-25 years ago without any cheats.
It really says something when "Welcome to the Machine" takes up a third of the running time lol

No one can escape full experience of Machine... NO ONE! Include TAS.

This game is like an acid trip. Probably one of the most unique experiences in videogames ever.
As a kid I don't think I ever got past the first level, but I had a blast zipping about as Ecco and just leaping over rocks.
12:38 Despite of all these years, a part of me is still trapped in that machine...

I never got to it! Lol the earliest levels were confusing but awesome AF
All of this Sonic The Hedgehog level speed just to find out his friends are stupid.
15:13 is possibly the worst part of the machine. The way the level itself tricks you into thinking you have to go up, then crushes you

@@henrimedot Ketamine's a prominent influence for this game. And I'm serious. Ecco's origins are extremely messed up.

I love that he actually porpoises to move faster at the surface.
It's hard to believe that anyone ever completed this game witbout any sort of cheats
This soundtrack of this game is awesome, its remind me Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis!
1:58 Imagine in Dolphin Olympics 2, like someone getting a lot of speed like 10 centillion speed, then tailsliding out of the existence and nowhere and then jumping too high like there's a hidden magical portal in 50 light-yotta-decilli-eternities per-nanosecond in Ecco the Dolphin's height, then meeting the second restaurant that's too high up there, then doing an instant nice entry and then thoroughly crashing through the ocean floor so hard that it comes and sounds with a very loud water explosion like this: "BOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!"! Looks like Ecco the Dolphin had his first nightmare in the ocean!
