Excellent fly. Great tip on punching the hole and running the mono through the bunny.

I do it the same way but often use 39 pound Mirage instead of 20# mono, or use 20 nylon coated stainless steel. The Tiemco 600 SP hook is ideal for this and I use them from size 2 to 2X. Easily one ofthe single best Tarpon Flies, in some colors they can work on Permit. Particularly light pink with natural bunny color then shlapen or wet hen in mottled brown. FisheryResearch

Great tarpon pattern. Why did you left so much space in the front of the hook?

CROSS CUT IS BEST FOR COLLARS.

Instead of using mono to hold up the tail couldn’t you of just put 5-6 wraps under it to hold it up ? And what’s the best colors for tarpon , chartreuse?, black and purple? , red and black? ( are they the same as deceiver colors ?)

New to tying.. will this fly ride hook up or down?

been tying this pattern for 30+ years but for Pike not tarpon.
