Imagine an enchanted audience in front of an enormous stage in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thousands of fans screaming just for her: the one and only Tarja. Having their cameras and cell phones ready to film what will become one hell of a performance, Tarja finally appears, dressed fully in black and with the most beautiful smile on her face; she is in full bloom. Let the show begin.
Filmed at Stadium Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 27th, 2011 during Tarja’s “What Lies Beneath World Tour 2011”, “Luna Park Ride” is available as 2CD, 2LP, DVD, Blu-ray and Download on earMUSIC.
Previously included in a very limited edition of her Top 5 live production “Act I”, May 29th finally sees the stand-alone release of the breathtaking “Luna Park Ride”. For the first time available on audio and video, the fan filmed material is topped with 14 (!) bonus live performances and offers the full package including previously unseen photos.
Ranging from Tarja classics like “I Walk Alone” to “Until My Last Breath”, the high quality audio mixed by Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam, Robert Plant) and fan video recordings also feature Nightwish rarities such as “Stargazers” or the electrifying medley of “Where Were You Last Night”, Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” and Bon Jovi’s classic “Livin’ On A Prayer”.
The 70 minute bonus material, also mixed by Tim Palmer, takes the fans on a tour of Tarja’s festival appearances and club shows from 2010 to 2014: From Tarja’s 2010 show at Masters Of Rock in Czech Republic with her band, choir and full orchestra live on stage, to a 2011 performance at Summerbreeze festival in Germany including a very special Gold Award presentation, continues with a recent performance in Ekaterinenburg, Russia as well as a performance together with Van Canto at last year’s Wacken Open Air. The bonus material finishes with three fan favourites - “Never Enough”, “Die Alive” and “Victim Of Ritual” - performed at Summerbreeze Festival 2014.

Came back to say this Wishmaster version is also light years from the studio version, she does not stop at Stargazers...you cannot top this woman, she owns these songs. Unbelievably fast pacing, high notes done while dancing around, voluminous and powerful voice, beautiful stage presence, I mean? How the fuck can we not love her?

That is an excellent question. I do think this version is closer to the Anette era version which was a more edgy rock version of the song. When performing with Anette, they sped it up a bit, and let Anette loose on it. The result was what we know today. This performance (can't remember them doing this again, but I may be wrong) is mostly like that, only with Tarja's vocals. There is very little left of the opera that was in it originally as well, and Tarja just performs it.. well, like Anette.. hahaha. I love it though.

@@LigeiaNoire Well, if you listen to how this version plays compared to the original, and then listen to.. well, try the version they played in Australia right after Anette joined the band, then you will hear the similarities pretty fast. Same pacing, same rocky version, only with different band and voice. But still, Tarja is lightyears ahead of any other on that song. It's hers. And she proves it every time she performs it.
She was on fire here. Vocals were on point, she looked flawless and so comfortable and happy. Truly having the time of her life and on top of her game.

I have this DVD. This is one of her BEST live performances so far, her rendition was impeccable. What a show, what a crowd you can feel the energy. I love my country for being such passionate with music. We 💜 U Tarja. This concert was magical despite the amateour footage.

Greatly appreciate this video of Tarja since I will probably never have the opportunity to see her live. I'm a fan and really enjoy her unique style and voice. Most videos I've seen have terrible audio imo your video has great audio thank you so much for sharing ......keep up the great Tarja videos

na verdade ela é única contora verdadeira de opera. muitas tentam imular mas não são 100%. nightiwish não consegue fazer cover de si mesmo, tentaram por outro estilo de vocal, mas a música ta na nossa cabeça com a voz da tarja. quem sabe o nightwish recrutasse uma cantora de opera genuína sairia do esquecimento...

And as I work with mentally handicapped people, I dont have 'home office' either. So it is not that extremely bad for me, but still it is quite different from normal, of course, How about you? Are you under complete lockdown? I think the Tarja concert here in April will not take place....

Este concierto fue muy importante en mi vida,me acuerdo que ese mismo año me había quebrado un brazo en un pogo por culpa de una deficiencia en los huesos y existía la posibilidad de que volviera a ocurrir en cualquier parte del cuerpo,con todo lo que eso implica,cuando empezó el pogo de wishmaster me acuerdo que no me importó nada,si me moría ahí iba a ser feliz,igual ese pogo fue re tranki y creo que aún así haber escuchado wishmaster en vivo hizo que todo lo vivido anteriormente valiera la pena
