Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino were the absolute STARS of Les Nuits de Nacre festival in Tulle, southern France in 2020. Their performance of this work was the star of that star performance. As a Brit, brought up on Punk, living in France, listening to Christine and teh Queens, finding Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino was a revelation. And I have never looked back!!

Thank you so much for this song, and the dance, and this powerful video. It helps us remember who we are. I watched a video of Silvia Perrone dancing in the square. I used to dance the tarantella at my mom’s church during the Italian festivals they held there but this is something else. It brought me to tears. I sat sobbing and trembling watching it over and over again, my body reacting to something my conscious mind doesn’t understand. Waking up something deep inside. Several other witchy women I know had the same reaction. She would have danced to help people heal in her community in ages past. Such a public display of healing power has been forbidden to us women of the modern age. Our ancestors met violence and death preserving these sacred rituals. Thank you for this beauty, thank you for this healing.

This dance ❤ i watched during the illegal lockdown in uk. I am still very moved by this free spirited expression of pride and defiance of our sovereignty as free human beings. We will not be controlled by fear, we will not be told how to live, we will not be told what we shall eat or how far we can travel, we will not have our bodily rights over ruled. This wonderful dancer inspires so much spiritual fight, a warriors dance. We will not be controlled. All humans are sovereign. All humans are free. Aquela bela dança na praça fez muito mais do que aquela mulher podia imaginar em concretizar com aquilo. Ela na minha opinião conseguiu um dos maiores feitos que um ser humano pode fazer: Aquecer e incendiar o coração do próximo quer essa chama seja de: esperança,amor,felicidade,consciência ou até mesmo plena curiosidade entre muitos outros. Ela mostra o quanto os nossos feitos importam porque podem vir a influenciar o outro e neste caso foi de uma forma positiva. Achei a música muito bonita :)
