Taproot’s Steve Richards Gives Details About The Upcoming Album, Special Guests, Concerts And More

The Taproot machine cranked up this week. They pegged down a date for the new album, announced some shows and pretty much hopped back onto the scene.
Singer, Steve Richards, was cool enough to swing by the station for an interview about everything the band has going on. He told me about the entire making of the album, which he did all by himself. It’s over a decade or recording, writing and finetuning each note. It’s called SC/SSRS (Scissors) and drops on September 29th. The band is going to celebrate its release with a couple shows at the Machine Shop in Flint, Mi. that weekend, the first of which sold right out right away, plus some other shows including the Blue Ridge Rock Fest with some of the biggest names in rock.
He tells me about some of the songs, one that’s as close to a love song as he’s ever gotten. He tells me about some special guests than join him on the record, as well as if he’s going to send Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst a copy. LOL

Been listening to Taproot since I was like 21 , 46 now ..half my life ...can't wait to hear their new album and looking forward to seeing them soon ..

Taproot first album was amazing but after the second album things went downhill

I disagree..... They are just a little different but still very decent.
Taproot "Gift" album is a national treasure. I heard Thrift Whore as a kid and I see it clearly now.
Taproot was one of my best concerts when I was 26ish.. 48 now 😊 Can't wait for this concert! ❤

I was on the railing for their set at Ozzfest 2000 in Columbus, Ohio. It was awesome. I still remember it pretty well even though it was many years ago! Needless to say, people started a "f*ck Fred Durst" chant! 🤣🤣
Thank you for putting out a new record, I felt like music died in about 2018 so this gives me hope.
started listening to them in 2000 and saw them in concert in 2001. Such a good band glad to be getting some new music.

I first got their Gift album in 2002 and have been a fan since. I saw them in concert twice. Glad to see them back.

This was so informative. I followed a few shows on the BACK TO SCHOOL TOUR. DEFTONES, INCUBUS AND TAPROOT. I've always thought TAPROOT was an Excellent Act with amazing albums. I wish this Dude All the Best. For Real. God Bless

Love taproot and now this interview is from my favorite morning show.....I'm from mass/ct. And waaf is no more. Dave n chuck my new morning ritual...and now I'm just gonna keep listening to this station. Cus if you guys are interview taproot.... u got my attention.. I agree. I met them in 2000 when my band at the timehad opened for them, Incubus, and the deftones. They are a great bunch of mother fukers.... Cool as fuk too.... Hats off to the drummer for singimg backup as well.😈😎🤘
