I have severe contact dermatitis on the purlicue, thenar webspace between thumb and index finger, and the tips of my fingers. I can only deal with the pain from my skin peeling off by keeping it bandaged could you help me find the best way to bandage my hand

jammed my thumb more times than i could count and i finally sprained it. im really glad that you posted this! water polo training has been more intense ever since we came back from online zoom training. i will definately buy some sports tape to get myself ready for nationals next year!!

Wow thank you. I used the second method and it is the most comfortable support I have had for my wrist and thumb. I have a wrist brace but it doesn't do much for my thumb so the taping with the brace on top works great.

Thanks, my thumb has been stressed from work and this let me bench press comfortably!

Never tape during recovery! Movement of the joint is important for healing. Fixation should only be applied to prevent additional stresses (training/games).

This is extremely helpful. My son is a catcher (in baseball) and jammed his thumb making a tag at the plate. It's painful for him to catch pitches now, and I was looking for a way to mitigate some of that pain without prohibiting him from fitting his thumb in the mitt. Looks like this should do the trick. Thanks!

This is amazing, Im EXTREMELY hypermobile and im playing tennis at a high level. Having a lot of wrist and thumb problems (pain)through constant hyperextension at every ball I hit. This taping keeps everything in place but still lets me hold my racket without having tape in the palms. One more question: whats the name of the white tape?

3M tape you might find them from drug stores (in my case)

3M makes loads of different tapes so a more specific product recommendation would be good please

Thnx could you give the brand of tape please. The early wrap seems flexible

That much tape? I don't have any knowledge with tape, it's my furst time and I only have like one type of that tape- so well- yeah- but tysm for posting! I'll just try it with that one tape...

Sorry this is a year late but i just found this video. It looks to me like the tape he is using is what can be referred to as “gentle tape” they have it under “gentle tape” at CVS at least. Good luck!

I tried this, on myself as Gwent police banned me from all medical assistance in Wales uk. But it was really uncomfortable and I could only get it off with scissors. I just put up with the pain now

The specific tape he is using is Victor's Hand Tear tape. Also called light tear tape.

Hi Taylor. It should hold up well in the water, for example in a water polo game, but will need to be replaced afterwards. Following showers etc, it can be dried with a hair dryer more quickly.
