✨ Guidelines for Posting: ✨ Meditation is about more than bare attention. It’s a training in particular qualities of the heart mind: loving kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, equanimity. Mindfulness of speech and deep listening are also integral to contemplative practice. For these reasons, we will moderate comments on Sahaja Soma to create a space in which people can build trust and feel further inclined to be vulnerable, remain open and feel connected. Sharing positive feedback, your questions, concerns and constructive criticism-all are very much welcome and appreciated. Some guidelines to bear in mind before posting: 1. Read first. Think second. Respond third. 2. If you wouldn’t say it face to face, don’t say it online. 3. Challenge ideas, not people. 4. Practice speaking in the first person (use “I” statements) to avoid assuming or projecting your experience onto others. 5. Please keep your comments relevant to the specific content posted.

The editing makes this look and sound like AI ,what’s not said is as important as what is said the gaps and pauses are needed , far to clever .

Wonderful indeed ! The informative knowledge I,ve recieved from listening to Dr. Bakers videos just over a period of a few days has radically opened my mind up to the possibilities of following the tantric yoga path as opposed to the monastic buddhist dogma which seems to me to be a tad misinformative with a tinge , dare I say it , of keeping control over the ignorant unwashed masses . Thankyou Ian !

I find all this extremely iteresting since 2018 when I had a human experience called a WALK-IN...he talks about the heat going through the body I experienced that exactly! Premonitions, visions, the knowings started flowing through. Prior 2018 the walk-in experience I knew nothing🤷🏼‍♀️ absolutely nothing about the spiritual world, thank you for this information 🙏🏼 💗🫶🏼

Great episode! After years of studying, it became clear to me that Platonism/Hermetism moved to India and become Tantra. By the way you really should interview the tantric scholar Christopher D. Wallis. he has written books about Tantra and has a KZread podcast.

I am very new to this topic, or rather this perspective. There are too many pearls of wisdom in every minute of this conversation for me to articulate and pick any particular one to comment my appreciation of. That said, people learn differently and I do not learn specifics well, unless I understand things in an overall context. So while, I’ve tangoed with this perspective or approach to spirituality before (and other schools of thought) this conversation created a lot of sparks or ah ha moments. That said, you all went deep and I could listen to this 20 times and still be harvesting pearls!

Fair point. It's admittedly quite a challenge to speak to people at various levels of knowledge and experience. This is one reason we divide the episodes up into chapters so that people can also skip ahead or go back if that's what feels best to them.

Mixing the meaning of the time we live into traditional Vajrayana practice is the work of scholars not so practitioners...

Well said. Which is why we need more guidance and teachers to pass it on.

I think I can understand where you are coming from this question, as it raises questions of authority, which are particularly relevant in Tantric traditions that elevate the role of the teacher or the Guru. Certainly, we all need guides, teachers, scholars. But what is your relationship to these people? I would draw a distinction between deferring and submitting. Ultimately I think it is up to every practitioner to make meaning of the Dharma for oneself. This meaning begins with guidance from scholars and teachers, but you can't simply accept "this is the Dharma" from them without question. We can see how different teachers and cultures in different times have differing interpretation as to "what is the Dharma?" I believe that a practitioner has to wrestle with these questions and feel into how awakening authentically wants to move through each of us in this particular incarnation. I think this has always been the case, but all the more so today as Vajrayana grows in the West.
