Tannum Sands and Gladstone (Queensland Coastal towns)

As we wander up the Queensland Coast we turn off the main highway to find the beach side townships, and we are only about 2 hour north of Town of 1770 and Agnes Waters (last video) but the landscape and feel of the town is totally different.
Tannum Sands is a small township with beachfront, surf club and supermarket and the Wild Cattle Creek that comes from inland through the mangroves to the surf beach and the tidal change is quite large.
Tannum Sands is across the river from Boyne Island, there is a huge smelter here and a lot of homes and is the "non highway" route to Gladstone, which is about 30 minutes north and a working harbour.
The Port of Gladstone is the fifth-largest multi-commodity port in Australia and the world's fourth-largest coal-exporting terminal. We visited the recreational area and were very impressed with the waterfront area, had lunch at the Gladstone Yacht Club and checked out Curtis Island (ferry ride across the harbour) for a return visit with the caravan and truck at some future time.

Lovely beaches, too much plastic pollution, though the river is a sight to behold in all it's glory, to be sure.
