The fact that an artist can tell a tragic story with a smile on their face shouldn't diminish the weight of the topic. The subject matter of the song didn't change from Tiny Desk to this video. The video just helped some people see the whole picture. Sometimes you'll like the picture sometimes you won't.

Seen them a few times in New Orleans (where they are from) and they go off each time! Super fun shows, especially when they do a jam session!

Man, this is so much more of a dark and wild adventure than I was expecting, coming from the Tiny Desk performance. I'm thoroughly impressed with this video . Dang!

Thank you for your artistry! I am a huge fan of the live performance however the video helps me to understand the context of the song more. I can wait to hear more music.

I do think Tanks music is best live but overproduction is really not something I'm one to complain about so I still live for this version of Quick. This video definitely helps put the song into context.

It's bright, colorful, playful, scary, sad, funny and downright fabulous. The rhythm of life. Well done y'all!

as a music video director myself i can really appreciate what must have gone into this production-- it was very ambitious esp for a collaborative piece with so many talent and different scenes. I really like the contrast of bright colors and graphic almost comic book, pop style panels and vfx with the dark storyline. I think the combination was a really good approach that matched the song. I can only imagine how many days you guys shot for or what you had to do to get everything to come together with a small crew and lots of moving parts! Bravo guys :)

Thanks, Lee, much respect. I was a co-director (amongst other things) on the video and we shot it in three very, very long days. We had about a month turn around from getting the go-ahead to the video release.

This is so goddamn powerful. This is my second time watching the video and both times I've had major goosebumps and got teary-eyed even. LOVE this band.

It's a hard truth. I adore Tank and the Bangas and was so glad they won Tiny Desk ( they beat my video and I am glad for that cause they deserve it!) I will admit that, though I knew the lyrics, I didn't quite envision a rape depiction. I realize that it's an important message. I'm just really sensitive to seeing sexual assault as are millions of women who have been through it. No judgement. I respect this decision, it just hurts too much to watch.

The video actually helped me understand the song so I don’t get why they’re confused either.

And if you haven't figured it out...tank s a whole woman a whole black woman and the bangas songs and subjects are poetry...not always what they seem....mark of great artists

This is amazing. I saw the live vid and the track was so badass, tight and original. For me the video just made it INFINITELY better. This is a message that NEEDS to get around. Forget the negativity... The video and lyrics just give it more respect, more brilliance and more bravery. I was lucky, grown up, turned onto rap acts like Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy and rock acts like Fugazi, Ani Difranco and Joe Strummer. Brave, true music is way too hard to come by these days... and we all should hope it comes back around, we need it more than ever. Don't ever change.
