Fantastic concert. Thanjavur Sri S Kalyanaraman never got the kind of recognition his brilliance deserved. MC is impeccable as always. It is such a pleasure to hear the brilliance of Yella Sri Venkateswara Rao's mridangam, in his prime... another great musician where gross under-recognition led him towards unconventional ways to exhibit his skills. There has possibly never been a mridangist with this kind of "kai" exploiting the highest sound possibilities of both left and right.

Fantabulous concert. Great voice. Another musician who embraced the Hindustani style with an open mind in the era when Hindustani music /style was not much appreciated in the South. I have heard that in the begiining of his career he and Voleti used to practice music together due to their affinities to the HM style. thank u for this upload. Brilliant musicians from that era - Voleti / Nedunuri / MLV / Kalyanaraman / KVN / DKJ / MDR / TK Rangachari / Somu ....

Yes. This was the MA concert held on 27 Dec 1977. Also missing from this recording is RTP in Shanmukhapriya, a brilliant rasikapriya( Arul seyyaya venom ayya) , Gowlipanthu ( Tharunamithamma) and his. favorite Kshnamathuuna in Valaji. Excellent concert overall.

absolutely mesmerising concert
What an amazing concert. Yella venkateswarulu seems young. Great concert.But really missing the full length of this concert. Anyway, Superb concert upto Sankarabharanam.
