🌄Pukchak Festival is celebrated by the Tikhak community of the Tangsa Tribe. "Pukchak" is a combination of two words: "Puk," meaning jungle or field, and "Chak," meaning burning or fire. The festival is observed in the month of March, where all relatives, friends, and well-wishers come together to enjoy the jhum cultivation festival. They prepare delicious foods and local wine for the guests, believing that this festival brings good cultivation and happiness to the household.
During Pukchak, people gather and visit every house to give their best wishes and blessings to the family members. It's a time of joyous celebration and communal bonding, where the entire community comes together to partake in the festivities. Happy Pukchak to all.
