Tampa Overview | An informative introduction to Tampa, Florida
Tampa has been one of the most requested cities for me to make an overview video on. Tampa is an amazing city with and is one of the fastest growing cities in the country currently. In this video I briefly cover Tampa's history, population, skyline as well as a few things that make it unique. Thanks for watching: Tampa Overview | An informative introduction to Tampa, Florida.

Yeah it is a beautiful city! Thanks for the comment!
OKC's average skyline height is heavily skewed by the Devon tower, which is several hundred feet taller than anything else in the city and gives the skyline a weird lopsided appearance. Tampa has a much more visually appealing skyline in my opinion.

Great job! Their skyline has really grown since the 1990s when I visited. Tampa is always overlooked since both Orlando and Miami get the international spotlight because of tourist hotspots. Tampa has such a great climate and local pirate enthusiasm that I am sure it will continue to grow. BTW: Congrats on your first video with a 100k view count! You have a winning formula. Be sure and keep the company headquarters, museums, and the city’s universities as features in your videos. These add so much educational value that I am sure educators will start finding you. Your channel is a GREAT place to start for kids doing research on a city. 🎉❤

Yeahh, that's my city!! (technically, because I'm still not actually in the city lol). Really interesting to hear some new stuff about it! Some stuff from experience: - I don't think I've ever heard it called "The Big Guava", but that's somehow fitting lol - The Plant Museum really is a cool thing to drive past - The American Victory Ship is an incredible museum, especially for people that like ships and/or history (like me lol) - I went to Gaparilla once when I was younger, and it was pretty cool! - Busch Gardens is also nice - You didn't mention this, but the city and surrounding area is rapidly building. There's a project that's expanding the skyline quite bit called Water Street Tampa. Also, the Florida Aquarium is another incredible experience if you go there.

Im suprised you didnt mention the waterfront parks and the riverwalk, the city is pretty proud of that project. Also, theres a vintage street car that takes you from Downtown, all the way to Ybor City and it's free. It goes past a lot of the attractions in the city, such as the Aquarium, Lightning Stadium, the cruise ship terminals, and a bunch of spots in Ybor. My only real complaint about Tampa is that there isnt a lot to do there after hours, the city kinda shuts down after 7pm, but they are building a lot of new buildings and that'll bring in more business.
@CityGeek

Tampa has a great night life , you have to go to ybor or the soho district . They have districts depending on what type of crowd you want to be around and I think it has the most strip clubs in the nation! If your looking in the heart of downtown then yeah you might not find it until they get done “ revamping”downtown but there’s is definitely a lot to do even st. Pete and Clearwater have nice bars and clubs

Beautiful city
Tampa is beautiful. Moved here from NJ 2 years ago and I’m going around exploring the good eats and activities in the area. Such an amazing place to live. Come check out some of the spots I visited😁
Do St Petersburg, Fl! The history of the city is very interesting, especially the founding of it. It’s also in the same metropolitan and regional area compared to Tampa, And is basically a sister city to Tampa, with a similar skyline and similar history.

Tampa Bay area is known for many heavy metal bands that emerged in the 90s, particularity death metal like Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Deicide, and prog/power metal bands like Kamelot, Iced Earth, Savatage, and Crimson Glory (the latter is actually in Sarasota, but it’s close).

Quit buying into the media driven panic/hype. Your chances of taking a direct hit are extremely rare. Especially a direct hit from one as powerful as Ian. But, you deal with them like we have always done. Prepare, cleanup and rebuild in some cases. Now if you vote democrat, stay away as hurricanes are terrible here and are the leading cause of death in our state.

I don’t want to jinx the city but Tampa is known to have a Seminole blessing sort to say where it’s only really had 1 since being incorporated and maybe before then . The canes usually changes path due to the city’s location , the amount of land it has to cross before reaching it (making the cane weaker ) and the water that pushes it further out in the gulf.
Do Indy next

Tocobaga & Seminole nations were the natives and true identity of Tampa, not pirates. It’s unfortunate that not only were they robbed of their land but it seems like they are being erased from Tampa’s history as well, since your video doesn’t mention them at all. Your videos are excellent and I love U.S. skylines however I believe important to pay homage to the true natives of all these cities as more than 65% of U.S. states and counties within carry a form of native languages as names, the least we can do is mention the tribes by name?

I genuinely appreciate the feedback. I’ve gone back and forth on how in-depth I want to go when talking about the origins of a given city. I haven’t totally figured that out yet but I realize that I can do a better job.
@321gates
Жыл бұрын
Incorrect. Tampa is no more home to the Seminole than it is to the Europeans who arrived before them, but I'm all for recognizing history as long as it is recited correctly. The only known Bay area indigenous tribes are the Tocobaga and Calusa. The name Tampa is thought to mean "sticks of fire" (due to of the extraordinary amount of lightning strikes the region receives) in the now extinct Calusa language.
