Tamiya RC Rally Cockpit! The easiest way to paint? Posco Paint pens!
Ойын-сауық
Hey friends! Today I paint up my first Tamiya Rally Cockpit for the TT-02 Rally build. I use Posco Paint pens and acrylic paint with a Flat clear finish. Devil is in the details but don't look too closely as it could be the worst you ever seen! Or the best (way of painting this). Let me know what you think. I got the idea of paint pens from

Yes! These are awesome! It does take a bit to fill everything in, but super easy! Clear coat it after! Cheers
That looks awesome, nice job.

hey thanks! Glad to make such a thing!
Hi there oh yes, a very nice cockpit and good alternative way to colour the cockpit. I’ve been doing the cockpits and drivers using brushes and Tamiya pots of paints, yep….the hard way 😊. Definitely primer is required, I’ve used Tamiya primer, also the Halfords plastic primer (although it’s recently risen in price from the £7.99 to £10.99), another one I’ve found on Amazon, mis the Hycote white primer (400ml), for around £7.95, which is reasonable. But other than that, it’s back to the brushes and a steady hand. Cockpit looks great. Best wishes, 😊

Thanks so much! I appreciate it! I have the brushes I need too, I used some on the larger surfaces. Penning in all of it could be somewhat time consuming too. I am in canada so I will look for similar primers at the craft store next time. Cheers!
Very nice job. Im going to have try those paint pens. Maybe some sharpies too. The only thing I do is I glue the heads and sand off the seam and use putty to fill any seam cracks.

Yes! The paint pens are truly awesome. Getting in the smaller creases can be tough but they make different sizes tips. Ah what kind of putty do you use on the head seams? Thanks!

@@MauzyrockRC U use the Tamiya putty. It works very well.
Hi dude, very satisfying to watch the cockpit come to life, as you say, a real 3D colouring book! Those pens are great, but yeah, a little primer may have helped, but this is how we learn, I know it's always trial and error with me for sure! Those driver's heads are always the hardest to do, I hate them, especially trying to do the faces, I think you did really well there my friend. Hope to see them getting a ride soon. Cheers! 😎👌👍

Thank you! Glad to entertain! Yes, one, primer all the way. The heads, yes, i even used this magnification headset but it was still all wobbly and shaky lol! Not the worst. I think finishing it with a flat clear made it pop and hid some things too. Thanks again! I appreciate the input! Cheers
Very cool! I feel this is a far better way of tackling this than painting 😎

Thanks a lot Addam! Yes a little less time perhaps. I know Rex's Rc sprayed his and used liquid mask on certain areas. Depends what IU have patience for that day lol!

Ahh thanks dude! The Posca pens are wicked. I got mine at Micheals and some smaller ones at Art Cansel on Kenmount Rd. I tried to share the KZread Channel link of the dude that gave me the idea. I'll find the link. 👍👍👍
