@@jason.bochniak thank you. That was my first truck and I believe my first kit....now it is just overwhelming!

The wiring is not difficult. Just intimidating. The directions are great. Just follow through step by step.

Once I asked for help with the coloured wires I was fine.

Really enjoying this build! Looking awesome so far, I really like your attention to the details and how neat and tidy you have managed to make that wiring look!👍👍

Cheers. There’s nowhere really to hide them so that’s as good as I can do, already spent way too long messing around lol. Too much talking and flicking through the manual. Including the extras at the same time has made it more difficult. You’ve really got to read all of it before building unless you maybe build it stock then modify after.

@@jason.bochniak just seeing the wiring diagram in your video blew my mind, I’m not good at wiring and there’s a lot of it! Really appreciate the tips because I hope to build one myself one day, always wanted to do a Smokey and the Bandit replica. Just need to find a 1/14 rc Trans Am to go in the trailer!😁👍👍

@@buildrestorecustomise2060 you should definitely do one, Smokey and the Bandit was one of my favourite films as a kid, that would be awesome, especially with a Trans Am. Don’t be put off, I’m colour blind so started stressing as soon as I opened the MFC box and saw all the wires. I already had to redo the harness last night after installing the coupler and legs servo because of the wires to them. I ended up getting a 2m length of the 6mm spiral wrap and started again from the back lights and added the extra wires as I wound it towards the front. Also the standard servo was too big to fit in between the chassis rails, literally wouldn’t fit so had to use a fancy low profile one I had put aside for another project. Looks great though because there’s room for the wiring to go past next to it. I’ll put it in the next video for you.

@@jason.bochniak cheers Jason, I’ll look forward to seeing it! Your build series on this rig has spurred me on to get one myself once funds and space allow especially as now I can rewatch these videos as I’m building mine if I get stuck!👍👍

I also run the wires in spiral wrap and run up the inside edge of the frame rail instead of up the middle. Kind of hides it.

I did try that first but you have to keep bending in and out around the chassis braces, would be good if there were holes in there to pass the wires through. Too late now to drill. How did you hold them there, cable ties?

Thanks, the supplied plastic bits do the job OK but you can still see the wires through all the gaps. I think that’s the worst of it as the rest of the wires get stuck to the inside of the body.
