I have an axial ae-2 esc on my cc01 fj Cruiser, much better than stock and has drag brake plus runs cool even while the stock motor is super hot

I would say the best tamiya offroad chassis is the highlift

yes, but in terms of budges, the cc01 with a lift kit works perfect

Matt's RC yeah cc01s are OK for the money but need a lot of mods to compare to something like an scx10 or other rig

True, i suppose if you wanted something that didn't need any mods, an scx10 or highlift would be exactly what you would want. I personally prefer Customing and improving

yeah me too, thats why my rig is a custom ta02, its got an scx10 centre gearbox and an aluminium chassis. Its out performed some scx10s/ascedeners and only cost me about £120 to build

Matt's RC what are the outer diameter of the tires mate.

Why must you be so polite? Whether or not lipos are better than nimh is not a matter of opinion. Lipos are newer technology, they are better. If nimh were better, lipos wouldn't exist.

NiMh are heavier which when installed in the stock position helps to lower the center of gravity. Tamiya ESCs do not have proper low voltage cutoff for LiPo so that is a consideration as well. NiMh also tend to be less expensive. So while LiPo do have advantages, so do NiMh.
