    In the early 1970's my best friend had one of the actual Herbie The Love Bug cars from the film. It wasn't the one that split in half. It was one that was used in parked scenes, and for promotional use. The sun roof was not real, it was only on the outside. It had the most beautiful paint I have ever seen on any car. It wasn't white, it was a very deep multi layer pearl. In the sunlight you could see down into the layers and see every color of the rainbow. From a distance, or in the shade, it just looked white.

    Nice, actually I painted mine pearl white because I did not want to have a true white paint.

    Nice video guys. Just getting back into the hobby and have been eyeing this bug. Too bad no one seems to be into racing these enough to do like a Class 11 RC spec series like the real baja bugs. Those things are fantastic. And since they're pretty much all stock except for maybe the tires, the same rules could apply to the RC bugs as well.

    Chrometrim stickers wasn’t doing it for me on my bug. So i bent up and made my own trim out of some 2mm 316stainless tig filler rod. and glued them into the grooves with clear glue before painting the body👌🏼😅 ALOT of fiddly work,but turned out good.

    Hello Im just in the process of building an M06 beetle and have got to the part where I fit the servo and have noticed that in with the two sticky pads that hold down the receiver and ESC there’s also a Square bit of sticky back foil and was just wondering if you knew where it goes I’ve had a few looks over the manual and can’t see where it goes any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • @GCMRacing1

    @GCMRacing1

    2 жыл бұрын

    Good question. I don't know. I had a thought that some of the thin foil might be to cover the gaps in the gear case halves so you don't get dirt inside the gears. Otherwise I don't know. It might be just extra stuff.

    I found out that it’s for covering the steering servo wires so that the battery don’t cause interference and or ware through the wires I was told buy someone on KZread where it goes and that it shows you on step 25 in the manual and he was right

    I have both of these cars. I also have the even older M-02L beetle but I never built it. I modified my MF-01X beetle with the Yeah racing long suspension. It works very good. I also got oil dampers for it too. It is very hard to set-up, but worth the time. I also did the "Herbie" on my M-06 chassis beetle. I had really hard time getting the decals to stick. Did you have this problem? I also got those decals on eBay from the UK.

    Beautiful vehicles, guys! In the first Herbie movie in some shots, he had very wide deep dish racing rims and tires. You probably know that Hot Wheels makes a die cast Herbie model that accurately replicates the racing rims. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qaiNqZWvpcWyiNY.html If you can install wheels like that....wow - that would be even more amazing!!! What you’ve done is fantastic!!
