Taming Marsha the Herring Gull Continues

After sampling a Chinese dish, Marsha reverts to British fish and chips: this time allowing me to virtually hand feed her. When I shop in Tesco, I always keep Marsha in mind....Eight hours later, at 9.10, Marsha tapped the kitchen window. She finished the meal whilst I held the dish. She flew off to sleep and digest her nutritious meal.

Mr Turner, YOU are superman for being able to note identifiable pigmentation pattern in Marsha's eye. These European Herring Gulls are opportunistic feeders, as well as being curious to bipedal mammals :) These Larus gulls will accept food presented to them, and have excellent memory, as well as being very territorial birds. Thank you so much for posting.

Thank you, and I envy you being able to experience visits with Marsha. Gulls are also masters at adapting quickly to changing human environment. You mentioned Marsha having a better personality than another gull. Well, some gulls are born and raised off large dumps, where other gulls have found a niche in a neighborhood. Ocean gulls, I notice, barely recognize when humans are about, unless they are presented food :)
