I am Japanese and learned Hindi at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Hindi writing (devanāgarī) was not heard for me. But Tamil writing is so hard. The most amazing of Indian letters are each language has own alphabet. Letters of South Indian languages are almost picture like to me.

It's a very small example that shows how much diverse our country is. We should all celebrate , promote and protect this diversity. You are doing a great work by bringing people close to each others language and culture. I am a electrical engineering teacher and a mechanical engineer in the UK. I was in Chennai Dec 2022 and was totally lost with the local language and entirely dependant on people speaking Hindi or English. As i am retuning back to Chennai to teach young children some engineering and self sustaining skills very soon, i have started to learn Tamil language. This video in my opinion is so appropriate for me because it is strengthening my Hindi and at the same time learning a new language. As i already speak English , German, Polish, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu another addition will do me no harm and will help me to communicate with the young children and the locals. Hopefully, i'll be able to converse with people after watching these videos. LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS. NB: Videos are well presented, understandable and clear.

Method of learning for me is the old Indian parrot fashion way reciting and writing the same letter over and over again. Since Dec 2022 i have learned 3/4 Tamill alphabet and hopefully to complete all the alphabet and be able to count to hundred before returning to Chennai . If you know English then German is much easier to learn because of words similarity. So, one must know where and when to use what sound. This follows a very natural simple set of rules. So, anything written in Tamil script should follow these rules (but due to exposure in English language an average Tamil person could read with correct pronunciation. Ex: Gandhi written in Tamil script as காந்தி. It should be read as Kāndhi only; never as Kānthi or Gānthi or Gāndhi. But due to the exposure in other languages like English and the influence of news channels an average educated Tamil person (according to the context) will automatically recognise it and read it as Gāndhi. 1. Kxxx, xxKKxx, xxɡ, xங்ɡ & xxɡxx 2. Cxxx /Çxxx, xxCCxx, xxÇ, xஞ்ɟx & xxÇxx 3. ʈxxx, xxʈʈxx, xxɖ , xண்ɖx & xxɖxx 4. t̪xx, xxt̪t̪xx, xxd̪, xந்d̪x & xxd̪xx 5. pxxx, xxppxx, xxb, xம்bx & xxbxx Examples: 1. Generally, words can only start with some set of consonants {க, ச, ஞ, த, ந, ப, ம, வ, யா வரிசை} & vowels {அ to ஔ}. So, டxxxx and such are grammatically incorrect but still words from other languages are written freely.

Good video. Appreciate it. But Madam and Sir please tell your viewers that Tamil has short forms for ए and ओ. In languages of Aryan family ए, ऐ, ओ, औ are considered as longer vowels or Dirgha Swar (दीर्घ स्वर) and ए and ओ don't have shorter counterparts or Hrsva Swar (ह्रस्व स्वर). But in all the languages of Dravidian family there are shorter counterparts for ए and ओ. In Devanagari Short ए is written as ऎ and short ओ is written as ऒ. So it will become ऎ, ए, ऐ, ऒ, ओ, औ (எ, ஏ, ஐ, ஒ, ஓ, ஔ). Just for knowledge of viewers.
