I'm so heated. That young lady with a child is so sweet and the fact that they treated her so ugly while with child. I've noticed that when I fly with my husband who serves in the military we're treated well. 🍬. But if I fly alone with our son, I've been treated very ugly by men in the airlines. From Ticketing, to security to stewardess (all men). The security was intimidating and was laughing at my reaction. I remember some security girl told him "you're going to make her cry that was mean." and he started laughing and said "I wanna see her cry, I bet she will. I want her to turn around." but I just put on my shoes and held my tears back. Women in general aren't treated well in public, I can only imagine being a woman of color! I mean I'm brown and still looked down upon but being black in America is something else. Power to them.

    4 жыл бұрын

@@veronicarussell6361 I posted this comment a while back and I didn't think my words were confusing but let me further explain. I am not black. I always find this answer hard to answer because my answer is not a race its a nationality but still its not as simple as black and white. I am Mexican, but when filling out a census form or ANY application form where they ask race , mexican Americans have to put Caucasian and then also check the 'other' box and check Hispanic or Latin. Thats because the country of Mexico was invaded by Spain which is a European country so therefore on any form we have to check the 'Caucasian ' box. Anyway i'm brown in skin color but more on the lighter spectrum of it. Im tan. That being said, I cannot compare what I go through to what a black woman goes through because black women are the most unjustly treated human beings in America. Now this doesn't mean every single black woman experiences discrimination or mistreatment but there is a large number in society that are so it is enough to conclude that black women in America struggle more than white women. Am I part of a minority group? Yes. Yes indeed. Am I a woman of color? Yes, yes I am. Am I black? No, I am not. I'm sure there are African lineages in my ancestry if I look deep anough but I've never done a DNA test to fully conclude that. So thats my best answer to you. I hope this explained it well and I apologize for any confusion I created with my initial comment.

The irony is, it's AMERICAN airlines treating Americans like this. I am an attorney and also, I work for, and have for 16 years, a major carrier: NO pilot has the authority to override constitutional and or aviation law. We deplane passengers for threats associated with flight, but discriminatory violations alleged here, are illegal. Point blank. Pilots are not trained in customer care/service, many of them come straight out of the military with ptsd and many other psych disorders... they are only given physicals and no psych evals for this type of employment. Be sure to document, and report asap, if this type of unfortunate occurrence happens to you.

The 3/5ths mention on that contract they wrote still applies as far as they are concerned. The interview was a good informative one and I am glad I took the time to listen to it: although I am late to the party.

Greettings, This is very disturbing! I am already consigned to discontinue supporting the profit of American airlines. However; people are in gravest danger on flights where there are possibly mentally imbalanced pilots, who have not even been diagnosed, or who cannot be held responsible for some of their actions, which are not even deemed by their superiors, as infractions or violations, of passengers rights. Such abuses of power can and probably exist on other carriers. There should be a universal screening for persons applying for this position, especially after having experienced the trauma of surviving combat duty, or even just active duty in any capacity.

I was thrown off of an airplane because I asked a passenger if they minded sliding their overhead bag down to allow me to put my bag overhead. The flight attendant told me to put my bag in the back of the plane. When I said that makes no common sense. She called the security to escort me off the plane. At the time I worked in the hr corporate office of the company that supplied officers for Chicago airports, MDW, ORD. It cost me extra money and almost lost my job because I could not reboard for 24 hours because I they claimed I was aggressive.

Candice Sejour You're making a generalization that you can't prove. Not all black people are mistreated everywhere. Apply less emotion and more logic to your arguments. How do you know this was a race issue? Because Tamika said so? Did you get the other side's opinion on the matter? There was other black people on the plane she was kicked off of. Were they mistreated? Can you prove if they were? This whole story is a case of he said she said. I'd rather go with facts, stats and data than opinions, emotions and anecdotes.
