Great idea to make more than just one. Grocery shopping usually does take more than one. Nice to have them look like a deliberate set. )) I have a single that I put layers of stiff card in the bottom so it stays open when there's odd shapes inside. Those could get covered with cloth too. Thanks. Well done with BARELY any extra music ))))

Great ideas, however, for strength where seams will be under stresses, clothing makers use wider seams. 1/4" is used for quuilting, simply because there is never any stress on any of the seams. Have you ever sewn on pockets? And you need a sewn section to strengthen the top edge so the strain of use does not rip the main fabric. A small triangle is often sewn to put the strain over a wider section instead of one thin line of fabric. In the bags you made, a sewn box with an "x" in it rather than a u shape with 2 vulnerable spots would be a lot stronger. There is no need to sew down to the very top of your handles, you can fold bag top in a bit to ptotect goods from the weather if loose. Also completely open tops are that much easier to empty by accident. Protect your hands, keep weightier bags in a shoppng trolley /cart. Please, don't carry them long distances with thin handles. All the best.

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your experienced take on this! I have three of these bags that I use almost daily and they are holding up fine for a normal "Annette-sized" grocery load. Check out this one my husband requested: It was designed to hold two 12-packs of soda pop. I did have to use the nylon handles but it's his favorite bag and he really loads it up! I made it November 2022! kzread.info/dash/bejne/k45_1dqngJm0o6Q.html

Another benefit of making fabric from scraps is being able to reinforce with interfacing to ensure the seams sewn with scraps don't fall apart as easily other than quilting to inner lining

I learn so much with your use of scraps. EXCELLENT! Now, I have to go back and watch the first video of your making the bolt of fabric. I never get tired of watching your work with scraps ... I have finally given up organizing my scraps (that will probably never happen, anyway), but you have really helped me just dive right in with what I have and GO FOR IT! So much FUN! These bags are so versatile, useful, and practical. And! I can actually use my scraps for leaders and enders which makes me happier than planned blocks (though one has got to admire a really good block pattern). I just like conglomerates!

Glad you are embracing just going for it! My scraps just go in a little plastic bin all mixed up! I don't organize them too much. Sometimes by size if I'm working on something in particular, but otherwise just all lumped together. Who has time to organize!?!? haha. ☀️♻️

I almost always see something new when I watch your scrap videos over again. This time, I realized that I have scraps in little bins that started being a scrap quilt and never even reached the "cut it into a block" size! A consequence of that is: I have a LOT of little bins taking up fabric space in my storage area. The first time I watch you with your "drawer of scraps", I thought that was weird. Over the months, I have begun to see the wisdom of your small work space. VERY wise! we shall see how much my thinking changes as I continue viewing your fun scrap blocks.@@sunbeamfabricart

Great question Susan. I don't advise machine laundering these old tablecloths, unless you have packaging that specifically shows machine wash instructions. The vinyl lining can be wiped down easily. If the outside gets dirty, a hand wash in cool water with a little dish soap, rinse and lay flat to dry. Have a great day!☀️
