So sorry for your loss praying for you and your family
Wow, really sad! I love how his community all say the same thing, that he was doing what he loved! 😢
Sad that horrible deaths come to such wonderful people because while he died doing what he loved, dying from a shark attack is unsettling for me to digest. God rest his precious soul.

a guy is a dead, and your comment is all about YOU and how YOU feel? Smh. What a narcissist

He really lived a full life. Rest in peace.
I grew up with Tamayo in my Jr high years through high school. It is sad to see such an outstanding person be taken before his time.
Dude is a legend and will forever be remembered. Seen him in the mags for like 30 years.

Give it a decade, peeps other than his fam will forget…
They minimized his injuries. "Bitten several times", but really lost an arm and leg in the attack.

You are in their home and that is the chance you take.
It seems the brightest lights are often the ones to get snuffed out. It feels so unfair. 💔
I don’t consider eight attacks per year “rare”

There’s 8 billion people in the world, so 8 attacks is INCREDIBLY rare!
Praying for your loss! 🙏🏻✝️🦋

Yikes. Thats horrible.
The world just lost a priceless benefactor. We’re going to miss you, Tam. See you in the next one.
Always what we love take us home jah jah
No one wants to die via shark attack, no matter how much they love surfing.
A loss indeed.
Occupational hazard. Unprovoked attacked is a moronic statement.
That's ridiculous about rescue efforts 2:17. He was surfing over a deep area and probably got hit by a white shark who ambush prey from below. Ocean Ramsey just posted today - limit your paddling over deep water. Too bad no-one was with Tamayo to help! What a legend.
Every surfer knows and doesn't care

we care...but the chance of getting attacked are much less than dying on a car accident...so

Old Florida clearly isn’t a surfer. He’s uneducated on the subject
Im thinking it was a hammerhead shark they are known to keep attacking. Rip my brother 🙏

I think it was a tigershark, hammerheads don’t attack humans. if they do they bite one time and stop then, tigers will bite multiple times😅
Most definitely a tiger shark about a thirteen footer the culprit for this attack, RIP Tamayo top man
Did he ever ate shark ?
Didn't they day sharks don't attack people😮
STAY OUT OF THE WATER , PERIOD~!
problem is is that you have a shark out there that probsbly likes what it ate and saw how easy it was
i liked learning about the proven statistics....too bad he didnt survive this time because based on the odds he probably wouldnt have been attacked by another shark for about 49 more yrs ! and now i know if your ever out surfing in Hawaii with anyone over age 50 best send them in unless they have already been attacked by a shark more recently...
8 shark attacks a year isn't that rare.

How so? I mean out of the 365 days, there's 357 days with no attacks. That is pretty rare, and it sucks that he had to be one of the eight. Just horrible all around .

wooh man Shark Attack Sorry Dude.
Heart wrenching, the world has lost an Beautiful spirit, loving and to his wife always by his side, i cannot imagine this❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹💔💔💔🫂🌠🌠
My condolences to his family and friends. 🩵🫂💌 I don't agree w "he died doin something that he loved" I'm sure he didn't want to get eaten. If u surf ur most likely to get attacked. He lost an arm n limb got attacked multiple times. I'm gonna go for a 4 meter Tiger. Also shark attacks aren't rare in Hawaii
