Hi Bechoy! I actually don't recommend using pebbles or small stones as a substitute for pumice. Pumice kasi is porous and has holes which aid aeration, with pebbles kasi especially the smooth ones and kasi dumidikit ang soil sa kanya kapag nabasa so mas nagiging compact and restricted ang airflow. Perlite is a good substitute though. Hope this helps!

@@omoklamok Maybe the sentence construction of my first comment lacked clarity and for that I apologize, but I didn't say wet soil does not adhere to pumice. I was comparing aeration on wet soil with pumice versus wet soil with pebbles. So please allow me to rephrase: Pumice is porous by 64 to 85% therefore water/gas is transported through the pores and nutrients are stored in the microscopic holes. Its porosity is also one of the reasons why roots (depending on the size) can adhere or even grow through pumice rocks which never happens with pebbles, hence making it a better option as a soil ammendment in horticulture. 😊

thank you Betchoy sana ive watched this before i did my aglo propa. my water propa failed as well as my first soil propa it took 3 months for me to finally decide what ti do to save my cuttings. i planted them directly in soil no pots. now thriving naman with new leaves na.
