Great video. I think what people sometimes miss is that when lowering pegs you do increase possibility of grounding them or your feet but how often do you ride in deep narrow ruts? If it’s a lot you’ll probably be on a full on dirt bike and not an adventure style. Whereas lowering pegs lowers your whole weight when standing increasing overall stability everywhere else. Makes transition from seated easier helping reduce fatigue. More people make mistakes/fall off because of fatigue than anything else.

I use bar risers, being 195cm tall. I also flipped the bar support to place the bar further forward. Decide not to go with lower pegs as they will hit the ground in corners and ruts. It's a personal thing though, like you mentioned.

Frank and honest video, love it, thanks Johannes. It’s good to be tall but it’s hard to be crazy tall! As for standing I find there are two ‘modes’ - the aggressive crouch you described, and the fully upright mode that allows you to lock the tank between your knees. Some advantages to that second mode, especially for fast cornering.

I love that my T7 is a ”big bike”. With the Rally Seat i sit very comfterable with my 188cm and it does not look lika a bicycle like my spotbikes hehe

Funny how similar our setups are. At 1.96m I run the Bosley pegs -20/0mm and rally seat as well. I opted for the standard size since those are already larger than stock. Also, I ditched the bar risers, but swapped the handlebar mounts around which moves them forward a little. Very happy with the ergos now.

The bar riser thing is really a personal thing, it is all about what works for you.

I also just fitted the Rally seat on my bike. It's so much better it's unreal. Should have done it 30.000KM ago....

My t7 had 2” rox bar risers when I bought it. It felt really weird when sitting down and riding actively on tarmac. Removed them asap and bike handled as it should! I’m 192cm

You're absolutely correct on bar risers. They destroy the handling of an off road bike. It becomes impossible to weight the front of the bike in corners properly, and I find you lose a lot of "feel" in the front tire. I never use the on my enduro bikes, and limit them to 10-15cm on my ADV bikes if I feel the need for more comfort. Lowering the pegs is the way to go as you did!

The decision to use bar risers is different for every rider and every bike. I have them on one of my bikes, but not the other one. If you find yourself too hunched over and always siting down, then maybe it's worth trying them to get more comfortable in the standing attack position. If they make you stand up more, then that's a good thing as standing up off-road is the way you will improve, IMO. Cheers

I am 194 cm tall (6’4”) and do not use bar risers for all same reasons. Bret Tkacs did a video about this subject on his channel and does a good job explaining as well.
