Talking Watches With Jean Arnault, Director Of Watches At Louis Vuitton
Ойын-сауық
Jean Arnault is the Director of Marketing and Development for Watches at Louis Vuitton. In his short tenure shepherding the brand, beginning in 2021, he has made considerable noise in the industry and proven that while he's here to change things for the better, he hasn't lost sight of the past.
His collection runs the gamut from esoteric LV releases of old to antique Patek, and even some very special Lange. See for yourself as we sit down with Arnault and get to the core of his collecting philosophy.

This is the best talking watches in years. Great interviewer, fantastic interviewee, diverse personal collection, great stories, and just a subtle amount of lv promotion. Also fantastic post-production. Bravo 👏👏👏

Someone who appreciates dress watches instead of just sports hype pieces - great change for Talking Watches.
Looking at his collection, first thought this is what silent luxury looks like. Then I realised he's the billionaire son of the owner of the largest luxury group in the world, so of course.

@@watch_wave I think he’s in the top 5, but not the richest in the world. Either way - at some point 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place stops making much of a difference - so he might as well be the richest in the world.

By the way, my point wasn't he can have what he wants 'cos he's rich. There have been a lot more rich people than not on Talking Watches. My point is, being born into wealth and luxury his collection is typical of someone who hasn't had to 'prove' their status. No hype pieces. No stones. No yellow or rose gold. Just watches he likes. Very understated, very quiet luxury. But of course it would be.

As a watch collector for some 35 years, I really liked Mr Arnault`s presentation, know-how and true passion for watches. Thank you both -
That Only Watch is absolutely mind blowing...
Great interview. First I’ve seen with Jean Arnault. Clearly a great credit to his family and the future of LVMH group, especially the watch division in this period moving forward.
I just love the LV watch box that houses his silent luxury watch collection. Epic timepieces in my book!
Such a unique and classic collection. I am blown away, every piece is incredible
That LV watch is so impressive, and he really knows all the many details.
Had to finish watching this in 3 separate occasions because his collection is so well curated it was making me feel unwell. It literally evoked a physical response in me. Absolutely stunning pieces mere mortals like myself can only aspire to have. The AL&S stands out, that dial is the clear starry night sky. Like many have said, this is the epitome of class. Incredible!

Very refreshing collection. Love that Lange.
Great interview and collection, good to see a guy from such a wealthy background to have a level head/nice way about him.
What a cool collection, a genuine collector.
He’s flexing hard with the modular timing system 😂😂
Great to have someone who is passionate about watches to helm LV watch. 👍🏻
Very cool chap and authentic collection, he knows what he's doing at work also.
Really interesting collection and refreshing change from the usual pieces we see Thanks for sharing
This is my second favorite watch collection I’ve ever seen right behind John Mayers. The last one with the enamel flags is my favorite.
I was half-expecting some LV watch ad with his collection, but was pleasantly surprised. What a unique collection and very well-spoken. Thanks for sharing
When I saw who this was I didn't think I was going to like it. But it was a very cool collection. That only watch is bananas.
Thank you for this talk! Such a pleasure.
A crazy impressive collection, each piece extremely unique and desirable!
What a classy collection, funnily enough loved the enamel dial LV would not have expected to like any offerings from a fashion house. Bravo

Amazing gadget that’s really a blast from the past! I’m sure his office is big enough to accommodate it.
Very nice collection that shows real love for watches. One question was not asked, though: what would be his grail watch?
Absolutely amazing collection!!
this guy has good taste. I'm really impressed w the big patek timekeeping machine. its really cool
I like how personal and unique his collection is. And I understand specially from his family background but the best part of it is not single rolex in the collection unlike any other collectors and it makes everything so special and different kind of expensive.
His brother, Frederic, was just announced as head of watches for all of LVMH. Congratulations to the Arnault family.
There should be a talking watches with each of the Arnaults
One of the nicest watches collection of the show
Jean Arnault is from the one of the most creative families and yet, even whilst showing some of his incredible watch collection he's as down to earth as the nice guy on your street. That's the difference between being wealthy and just being rich.
Another great show with great watches we wish we could afford.
Bring him back again we'd love to see other pieces from his collection
Finest collection video I have ever seen. ❤
Very articulate and surprisingly charming young man.
So glad this wasn't just a bunch of Royal Oaks and Rolexes. Shows that he understands that a collection isn't what everyone else collects but what makes watches special to you.
I saw him wolfing down a fry-up and burping loudly in a Wetherspoons recently and he had a battered old Seiko 5 on. Strange that he didn't bring that one to show off.
I think we can do better, and he was right. I love the Escale world time, but this was such an improvement from the one in production.
A very handsome, solid and pleasant man!Bravo!
Great episode but credit also to Glassofmilt for doing the interview in a stupendous way. Bravo!
On the upside down engraving at 10:42 John Mayer said in his second TW that some engravers believe the crown on the right is the correct position to engrave, even though it’s “upside down”. Could be what happened here!
Cool collection and nice guy.

Great video!! Love it
really love the patek 3970
Outstanding collection. One of the best TW has seen. Exclusive, eclectic, electric! What a nice guy! 💥
The escale is arguably the greatest lv watches that they ever produced so far. I wish they would produced another one with the ability of jump hour, and the mechanically produced back light.
Nowadays I am looking for interesting watches from jewelry companies, while a lot many "watch" companies are "creating" new fonts, color, dial pattern and lug shape, even crown size to present us "new" watches.
I’m surprised he didn’t throw in a Zenith or TAG Heuer… you know, just to represent a little.
Really like the stories behind each piece, and how unique they are!
A similar Krayon just sold at auction for 350K CHF
He talks very fondly of Patek.
The accent was like mixed between American and French. Cool
I like this guy. Clearly he has an uphill battle when it comes to reshaping our thinking in regards to fashion brands and their horological output, but the Tambour inspired thing they released (despite it's ridiculous pricing) is actually a really nice looking, proper watch. You can tell it has been released by someone with a real knowledge and love for watches.
Congratulations Hodinkee! A pleasant surprise to meet such a young collector Of such refined taste and knowledge
Respect!
beautiful watches!!!
always a pleasure to hear Jean Arnault present his thoughts
interesting, not a single rolex or hype watch. Much respect
Thanks dad!

This guy is maybe the main reason that we soon might have to take LV-watches seriously.
I like him
Love the elevator background music. But interesting take from a bright young guy. Oh, and I believe the Monet painting that inspired the Krayon's dial might well be one of the renditions of the London House of Parliament in the setting sun - same colour scheme.
Nepo baby
Jean Arnault he is so humble but he glows...
Nice collection and great guy! Keep going
Jean is so cute!!!
The Arnault family is soo crazy. Not being negative - I have a lot of respect for the direction LVMH started going in years ago when the acquired Rimowa, etc. Good to see Bernard involving his entire family in LVMH - Brings diversity to the brands represented, having a younger eyes, eye.
honestly LV is bringing out so amazing watches but they'll always be strong hold as a "fashion watch" making their watches high retail but low resale... They should honestly just spun off into an independent new luxury watch brand that only does watches under a new name.
for once I don't have ROs being seared into my retina. hallelujah. sick collection
“Patek Philippe Longa” lol
❤
I like Jean, I admire his collection. The only issue I have with this episode is that it continues to have a really commercial feel that we've been seeing recently from talking watches. If it was once in a while with these partial collection/partial advertisement videos it would be much better imo. That being said. A lot of really nice watches in Jean's collection and he certainly has an enjoyable ethos to his collection.
Very mature for a 24 year old.

Jean Arnault was interested in watches at a young age......
