Talking Technique: Speed Permutations

Up for part 2 of our challenge? In part 1 we explored pivot permutations and using the mirror image of permutations. As if that wasn’t tough enough, we are going for speed in this episode! You know I love the power of slow and recommend practicing slowly with your attention rotating (my PORA technique), but in this episode it is all about speeding it up.

Great instruction and exercise. I haven't seen this type of exercise before, but it's easy to see it's gonna produce gold. Thank you

Wow, this really works! I'm an old slow hand blues/rock guitar player. For months I've been struggling to get consistent triplets at speed. Your method of half time full time has got them finally locking in. Thank you. Yes, I'm following and sharing.

I've played bass for 40 plus years and stumbled on Ari's bass teaching videos several weeks ago and she has captivated me with her teaching communication capabilities. I wish as a young new bass player 40 years ago I would have had someone like Ari, to teach, demonstrate, and most of all, discipline me on practicing to develop dexterity and technique! She is the best out of 100's of video teachings/lessons on bass!

You are tooooo awesome !! I can't keep up ! Beautiful Bass too ? I have bass acquisition disorder but I know purchasing doesn't make me a better player. Just a better buyer.

Hey I disagree! Buying new basses do make you a better bass player! Think about all the basses we've purchased and 100's of hours we spent playing them non-stop 24 hrs a day for first month or so? That's how I justify to wife that I need a new bass :) I've played bass for 40 plus years, so I have done much justifying how that new $4 K bass will make all the difference in my playing :)=) Those high-end high $ basses, all were sold, and I circled back to playing what I started playing in the mid 70's, Fender P and Fender J basses. I was when I went back to the basics of basses and bass playing is when I fell back in love with playing bass! Just kidding on the part that a new or great sounding bass will make you a better player -- it won't!

Hello .I was doing those things already in the 70 across all strings, check Tom Fowler, Frank Zappas bass player, he has a really nasty ones. Try to do the same things with 2 strings, 3 strings and finally all of them
