Fun story: My sister-in-law's father (named Kurt) was Magnus's chiropractor shortly after he injured his biceps tendon. Kurt told Magnus that he did not have to pay for the treatment he received but that Kurt might be able to claim a favor later on. Kurt eventuallt did. He had a hot water heater in the basement that he needed to get up on the first floor. Magnus took an iron pipe, laid the heater down on the basement stairs and pushed it up to the first floor. When he came up, he asked Kurt. "Jeez, this one was heavy. Did you drain it on water?" Kurt responded: "Ehhh, drain it on water? What do you mean?" Lol! Magnus had lifted 120 kg of unnecessary water so it was actually a bit heavy for him too. :D Also, nice of you to upload this on the swedish national day!

Craig Jones yes and they have never been as good. Where as Magnus won a WSM and was a top contender on the podium for many years. Nick best and Felix have never been in the absolute top tier so combined with starting later in life it’s much easier for them to maintain and compete later in life.

One of my absolute favorites among strongmen for the last 40 years. Down to earth, modest and humble, and with a dynamic strength and agility that I believe at least partly can be traced back to his background as a farmer. Have also become a decent actor in some minor roles in TV series, where much of his real life character also seems to shine through in his roles. To see this massive guy move on to win the swedish version of Dancing with stars was almost surreal: What a great accomplishment. I hope we get to see more of him in the years to come.

Trained with friends at Samulssons strongman barn almost every weekend for a year or so. Magnus and his brother Torbjörn was really great and took time to help. Remeber cold winter mornings, push out the rally Volvos to have space to train. And it seemed almost colder in the barn than outside. The cold iron on for example farmers almost froze into the hands, or ice cold atlas stones in the arms so your whole body turned to ice :-)) Nice memories and fun to hang out with Samuelssons, and very down to earth people. Myself did not get anywhere in strongman, but was tester (tested equipment for example truckpull etc) in many national qualifier for Sweden strongest man to see if it was to light, to heavy etc. And also coach my friends in these competitions. Good times B-)

Unfortunately he never had the leg or back strength to compete with his contemporaries . Happy when he won one. Being and American there wasnt many too many to root for back then. Glad hes still around and healthy.
