I can confirm that they were around me as a kid in Canada. I didnt own one but others did.

@@iHeartsNostalgiaPit i only vaguely remember the talking ones ad. I remember the original nano and tamagotchi ones more. Heck, I didn't know that giga pets had a commercial. That was neat to learn.
They talked? Wow i dont remember that part
