Talking Bollox Podcast Episode 48 w/ Joe McGucken

Комедия

We have a serious bit of craic in this one, but then we get in to why we got Joe in for a part 2, because a lot was left unsaid in Part 1.
This is a very raw, gripping story about Joe's loss of his brother and father and the miracle birth of his son Ollie ‘Ice’ McGucken.

You can see the hurt in Terrys face, the empathy for poor Joe. What a poor down on his luck guy. Hope things start looking up for him soon 🙏🏻 great podcast lads thanks for talking about and raising awareness for the important things.

...@45 MINS, It's so specific,, like it's burned into his memory!! Each step in sequence,, in a downward spiral where u end up feeling worse than u did before,, EXCEPT for that 1 giant weight of "I NEED HELP", WHICH MAKES ALL TH DIFFERENCE! BUT,, u hit it on th head,, there should b a separate protocol,, like an Orange folder they open that has a list of instructions for what to do/say next,, and then there has to b (like a good golf swing,, lol) FOLLOW-THROUGH!!!

...1:06,,, EVERYBODY who has/had a family member like that has th exact same story!!! Joe just told us his actions led to his brother going back into rehab,, yet he still feels responsible!!,,lol. Personally I lost my brother AFTER telling him I didn't want to talk to him anymore unless he was sober!!! BUT it's a tactic THEY use over and over because THEY kno when someone feels 'responsible' THEY can use th fuck outa them!!! So we get stuck with th GUILT!!! FUCK THAT!!!

...@57.27 "were ya ever depressed before?" lol. excellent conversation!!! Anti-D's didn't work for me either,, (th science behind them is pretty sketchy,, lol),, but I gotta say,, we hav our own ANTI-DEPRESSANTS in our bodies!! The action of WAVING releases chemicals into th brain (when feeling sad that someone is going away we wave to each other) to make us happy! And looking up,, (at clouds, trees, a badminton shuttle, etc.) makes us happy,, and,, (especially for people who live alone),, CHEWING GUM gives th jaw muscles a work-out very like a conversation with someone, and so it helps alleviate (that means 'to make less of' for people out there who don't kno wat a fucken GLACIER is!!!,,, lol) feelings of loneliness!!!

...@1:02,, so, when u feel u'r going down that dark bastard 'rabbit hole' stop and wave!!! Wave at a poster on th fucking wall,, or a tree,, or at u guys on th screen,, lol,, (pretty depressing shit alright!!!,, lol) I think u'r about to ask joe what he does when he starts feeling depressed,, lol,, it's fucken RIVETING conversation lads!!! Anyway,, yea,, just wave,, and then look up at th clouds,, or stars! It CHANGES u'r brain chemistry!!!
