What I like the most of Gàidhlig is the mental framing, the mindset. It amazes me the way they think and see the world. it's absolutely different from my mother tongue (spanish) That should never be lost. Thanks for all your work Jason, much appreciated.

what doesn't make sense to me is why people say "Gaalic" as opposed to "Gaelic". we don't say in English, zhongwen, when talking about the Chinese language. but even more, I don't get the Gaelic pronunciation of this word. "Gaidhealtachd" uses the word preserved in English, Gael, exactly as one expects. you can compare other Gaelic words that have a "gàidh---" and they will sound as "gay". but for some reason this changes in regard to the language? A Gael is pronounced similar to English, yet the language which had the same initial spelling is different. in reality, "Gaidhlig" should be pronounced "Gaelic" based in sound rules and historical pronunciation

I was told that in Scotland its pronounced gal'-ick and in Ireland it's pronounced gay'-lik

Madainn mhath. 🙂 Yes it is, unless we're using a little word like in, on, from, etc with it. Then that T- gets dropped.

I have noticed the simple background before as well, but I love it. Too many KZreadrs/influencers/people in general focus on trying to look a certain way or show off their homes and possessions- Jason is just here for the language...and us. Tha mi cho taingeil airson sin.

Tha sin glè mhath . Choileach.....would that be pronounced like hilloch? That's how it would roughly be pronounced in Irish and I'm still learning the different Gàidhlig vowel and combination vowel sounds , there are a few differences between it and Irish I've come to learn . Is ghallus the wrong word or is choileach just a different word for the same animal ? Gu rabh math agad a charaid. Tha beagan Gàidhlig (Gaedhlig) agam , ach tha mi ag ionnsachadh (go fóill----still)...Tha mi duilich don ceisteanan? agam , tha gaol mòr agam air Ghàidhlig agus Gaedhlig . Tìoraidh ma tha?( for now?) Still learning that one too. There are many things I can say due to the words being the same, but the differences are still there and so I'm forever learning something new.

Dà choileach ? That's a wee bit different , in Irish I would have to add the H in there and render it as dhá . The more I learn the more intrigued I become. I'm also taking on the Manx , interesting wee bugger it is , the spelling is what does it. Mostly words sound very similar to Irish and Scottish but the spelling would make a priest pull out his hair and curse his ma . It does seem nearly a perfect blend atwinx the Gàidhlig and Gaedhlig. I can hear a lot of Connemara Irish influence and Gàidhlig as well in the Manx though at the moment I only have a wee bit of the Manx........as for Gàidhlig Gaedhlig and Gaelg , bhuel , gaol ise gaol i . I love learning it no matter how hard it gets sometimes.
