German or Brit does it matter? Max Richter is a really humble and gifted genius anyway
His "Spring" interpretation is so amazingly beautiful it makes me cry every single time I listen to it. His music has healing powers. Listening to his newer album "Sleep" is a game changer because it alleviated my depression and anxiety.

Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "do you get calluses from playing piano?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Poneyton Introductory Preeminence - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to master the piano minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy got amazing success with it.
He seems like such a calm, intelligent, lovely guy. He lets his beautiful music speak for itself.
Max is a rare mix of great qualities: articulate, good natured, unpretentious, attractive, plus endowed with an enormous musical talent.

i am a fan of max richter i jove his music it is beautyful
Great interview, good questions, an extraordinary artist , love his music 🖖
His music's are so beautiful.
Heard Max’s score "On the Nature of Daylight" in Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island and in an episode Of The last of us. Brilliant composer.
I like Richter's interpretation of Vivaldi's Four seasons. His music gives us calm, peace and joy of heart. This music helps me follow apostle Paul's advice: "...whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things" (Phillipians 4:8).
he looks German but has British facial expressions!
Does anyone know how old he was when he started playing piano?
wow
top genius max richter
Greatest composer of our generation
Bravo
Classic DW Interview: too much gossip, no serious in-deep music talk.
I don't understand the obsession to mark the line to identify if Brit or German! Almost 4min on that!
I love the part about Kraftwerk
A "british" composer with a german name, of german descent, that was born in Germany and lives and works in Berlin, that is...

Hmmm. I was born in Germany, of German descent, and live in Berlin. Still, I am American. /mw

Nope, you're german with an american citizenship. Unlike european nationalities, the american one isn't worth anything, because it's an immigration country with no ethnos and real culture behind it. You may become american, but you can't become british, german, polish and so on...

In this video he literally states that he is British. So the answer is...
forgive my ignorant question, but i'm surprised that they have tv in English in Germany! how prevalent is this? what drives it to exist?

Marry me please!
He's not german??
He is better than Vivaldi. The fascination over his identity is a wrestling many Germans go through, particularly those of high ability - to somehow attempt and reconcile what it is to be German in a post-war world, especially when one displays such superior aptitude and mastery in a field of human endeavour. What I think the Germans are tempting to reconcile is why in music does he flee from his Germanness? Surely that's the one realm we haven't lost credibility in and can be proud of our accomplishment. But I think the explanation is a lot less esoteric and it's simply about his cultural upbringing. And I genuinely think he is better than Vivaldi. His music is more profound by the nihilism coloring his world view. And that is all too German. 😆😅🤣

C'mon. Vivaldi lived over 280 years ago! Can you imagine a world without Vivaldi, esp. his string works? If Vivaldi hadn't written The Four Seasons Richter couldn't "re-work it!"
STOP talking about being British...omg
Warum Britisch?
