Jamie illuminates our way as we follow in the footsteps, albeit virtually, of pilgrims who have been travelling to Kumano for over 1,000 years. Our journey in his expert company takes us through the pilgrimage’s history, society, culture, politics, personalities and environment; the sacred and the profane, the ancient and the contemporary. Jamie colours this presentation with his own experiences, anecdotes and interpretations drawn from his frequent visits to the Kumano Kodo.
