Talk Africa: Industrializing Africa

It has been said that manufacturing in Africa is only for the brave. With a declining contribution to Africa's economies in the past three decades, manufacturing's share of GDP in the continent stood at just 11% in 2014.
As China transitions into a consumer-driven economy, Africa now stands to gain from a golden opportunity; with Chinese manufacturers anticipated to relocate to the continent now gaining momentum in industry. Beatrice Marshall and her panel of experts explore the opportunities and challenges of Africa's industrialization in this episode of Talk Africa.

“After a people have established successfully a firm industrial foundation they naturally turn to politics and society, but not first to society and politics, because the two latter cannot exist without the former.” Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey Afrika has failed to industrialized because many of its leaders (who are opportunists) are NOT guided the philosophy of this GREAT PAN-AFRIKANIST leader.

What the Africans countries need to do is get together and learn how to build from each other, they also need to learn as much as they can from Israel, Europe, America, and Chinese industries and start producing comparable African product such as jeans, dress shirts, T-shirts, coast, sweaters, dresses, African brand shoes; sewer systems, water purification systems, recycling centers, and systems in each African country. African countries need to invest and learn how to build their own industrial machines to produce products fast and save money doing it. Africa need to quit being cheap and upgrade their military's because their survival in the future depends on their unity as a people. You cant fight mock 5 fighter jets with R.P.G's. You need up to date weapons. Those World War I, and World War II, weapons are useless in today's time and age they cant even compare to the weapons America, Russia, China, Japan, India, NATO, Israel, and the U.K. have today.

Knowledge is not the problem here. They have plenty of engineers and architects with up to date knowledge. The problem is the lack of funding for infrastructure.

With all due respect. you sound very naive and uninformed. there isn't a lack of skills neither is outdated weapons the main issue here. The problem is the system of government run by puppets , greedy and corrupt, ready to exploit and prostitute the continent. The AU is controlled by the EU and US. You cant talk of military when your seats of power are controlled from the outside. its useless. Get proper leadership, get true independence first , control your resources then you can speak about defense.

REASON FOR THE FAILURE OF THE BLACK ELITES TO INDUSTRIALIZE THEIR COUNTRIES A. “The battles of the future, whether they be physical or mental will be fought on scientific lines, and the race that is able to produce the highest scientific development, is the race that will ultimately rule.” (Marcus Garvey, Philosophy and Opinions, Vol. I, p 14) B. “The fundamental cause of Black Africa’s economic stagnation is the unwillingness of its comprador elites to attempt the complex and strenuous task of industrialization. And they are unwilling for two fundamental reasons: (a) they are not aware that Black Africans have foreign enemies, and (b) they are elites and not ruling classes. The ruling class mentality is quite different from the mentality of an elite. The members of a ruling class are groomed to take collective responsibility for every aspect of their society, from its feeding to its defense.” The sources of Black Africa's stagnation - The Chinweizu Observatory, thechinweizuobservatory.wordpress.com/.../the-sources-of-black-africas-stagna

China has been engaging with Africa for more than a millennia, not quite a new phenomena China and Africa are partners. Re-investment into the infrastructure will be the key.
