TALIBAN Kicks American out of KABUL 😱

Travel as a tourist to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2024 and you'll be surprised by its beauty. In 24 hours in Kabul I visited tourism places like the Sakhi Shah-e Mardan Shrine or Ziyarat-e Sakhi (Pashto/Dari: زیارت سخی). I also toured the super green Bagh-e Babur (Dari: باغ بابر), also known as Gardens of Babur as well as the oldest bird market in all of Afghanistan.
I found the Afghani people SUPER friendly and curious, just like most of the Taliban members that I met. BUT... unfortunately I had a scary incident where the Taliban took my guide at gunpoint for questioning. They saw me filming for KZread and wanted to make sure I was not a spy.
All this happened while I waited anxiously in the car for my guide to return, which he did, one hour later. I've traveled to 190 countries and this, on my first day in Afghanistan, was the scariest moment of them all.
Fortunately nothing happened, but it was nerve wracking for sure and something I would have to deal with all the time during my two weeks in Afghanistan.
Thanks so much for watching. More awesome Afghanistan videos coming soon. Please subscribe and hit the notification bell to be alerted when they premier. (bit.ly/3BqGnIz)

(bit.ly/3BqGnIz)

Hi Phil, great video and a great inside in to Afghanistan under the new regime. I am sorry to hear about the ending but something doesn't add up. I think you need to look for another guide as he has probably argued or debated with Taliban. You watch the video of Blackman the traveller or harry or maybe get in touch to see if they have been through similar experience. Your guide is young and naive also not very wise. A good guide should know how to deescalate such situation and provide you with more information. I hope you have a good time and share more of your experience. Make sure you try chainaki (Hard to find it any where else) and other tasty food.

@@Phils_Guide I am not afghani or american but upon watching video and reading comments from other afghani's claiming Mahdi is lying, maybe there is some truth to that. Because i personally watch many travel vlogs and i have not seen a single vlog complaining about taliban until now (which is why i decided to read all the comments). You are asking "Why do you think Mahdi would lie?" But the commenter pointed it out in the original comment "He might be building his case for asylum" .The fact there is this video of you saying that your "guide (Mahdi)" was on gunpoint for 1 hour , he can submit this video and whatever else he has, to other countries as proof that he is being discriminated against or whatever. It's not out of reach. He might have some other reasons as well for lying. Anyway, from all the video's i've seen, the Taliban don't have time to waste 1 hour with some tour guide and put him on gunpoint. The taliban are the rulers, they don'tneed to put him on gunpoint for 1 hour, that makes no sense. They don't do business like that. He may have purposefully not filled out correct documents so that they would investigate him and then he can make some story up about being held at gunpoint. I don't know but it all seems very strange and definitely not the behavior of taliban i've seen on all the other travel vlogs. Be safe and have fun

Is it because you are an American and feel privileged to lie, just because you weren't allowed to film on the streets? I am sure you were told about the laws before entering Afghanistan. Hey Phils, Generally, they're quite nice and respectful. You could've approached them and had a conversation. If filming were illegal, they would have informed you at the airport. There's no official law against filming. Some of the Taliban driving around cities are uneducated and clueless; they have no idea their leaders wouldn't approve. Most are just trying to show off, but that's about it. Trust me, they're usually very friendly. Your tour guide might be exaggerating a bit because that particular ethnic group in Afghanistan is strongly opposed to the Taliban, so he's likely to say things like that. Your tour guy, if he had the opportunity to get out of afghanistan, he will get out in a blink of an eye and not just that, once they get out, they usualy don't even claim to be afghans, so If I were you, I would have gone and talked with the Taliban myself, and not trust one bit what that tour guy has to say. Trust me, I know it sounds crazy but majority of thse talibans are very respecful and nice and polite. Hope that kinda helps. Thanks

The Kabul mountain wall is interesting, The Zanburak Shah Wall in Kabul is one of the country's ancient monuments and has a 1400-year history. According to legend, two brothers named Zanburak Shah and Zanbilik Shah, both rulers, built this ancient wall in pre-Islamic times, Hard historical fact is difficult to come by in a place where rumors are as ubiquitous as weathered faces, but legend has it that the wall was the project of King Zamburak Shah in the sixth century, built to keep out Muslim invaders.

actually what you been through, I have videos of other youtubers who have been through the same thing, however it could have happen because of the video you were making. or in the place you shooting. those youtubers were filming Taliban headquarter or something, so the got suspicious and took them and then contacted their embassies (Indian and some other country). the Taliban dont allow Media. and making videos of some places . the rest enjoy your stay.

What your guide says doesn't make sense. If the Taleban had a problem with you filming, you'd be the one they take with them and question you. Properly and decently like professionals. Also they wouldn't take your guide by himself and then inform him to tell you to get out of town. That's not how deportation works in Afghanistan. If I were you I'd change my guide. Not sure what your guide's intention are, but he's probably fishing for an asylum case.

This guy is explaining to you the way things are done. You probably wouldve landed up having tea or lunch with our police if yoivwerd not guikty lf aomething. It's surprising that u are so gullible or u are lying and have something to hide which is why u left wothout official request to leave and we do have police who speak English. @@Phils_Guide

Your were probably taking a video in an area where were not meant to film or you didn't get the correct permission, or u are sp-yi-ng. Full support to our Isla-mic Emira-te security forces. Your guide is a liar. We also don't know why you were under scrutiny.

Dear Phil, We are saddened to learn about your distressing encounter with the Taliban during your exploration and vlogging in Afghanistan. While many Taliban members have embraced modern perspectives, there are still individuals affected by the prolonged conflict, leading to instances where foreigners may face challenges. As representatives of the Taliban, we take this matter seriously and assure you that we will address and take action against those members who have caused distress to you and your guide. To expedite this process, could you please provide specific location details? We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of foreign tourists in Afghanistan and will keep you updated on the actions taken.
