he's not underrated, he's very well rated and recognized. one of the best underground rappers who took it mainstream. his niche is very different though. his lyrics adress a different set of listeners with different taste in music and a different mentality.

It has something to do with Blackstar, a lot of people felt like they were pandering to white people with their lyrics. This is the only Talib track most of those oldheads heard anyway.
