This episode was good enough to watch twice
The actors from past generations are much tougher stock than the generic Paper Doll actors we have now. These guys knew how to ride, fight, drink ( a bit ) , and all the rest of the good stuff . I find older shows more entertaining these days . That’s how I ended up here . Thanks for sharing .
Brilliant dialogues! One of the finest Westerns!
The dialogue alone elevates this show to another level, it stands heads & shoulders above many other shows in this respect even in comparison to some in different genres.

12:09 I was offended that the the teacher needed to tell the boy to pick up the rifle. They painted the boy as being skilled. I think that he would have picked it up immediately, even before he pointed out the men to the teacher. I'd have like to see the boy pick up the rifle and the teacher say "Where?", the boy says "200 ft left of that big tree, behind the rocks." The teacher responds "I see them. You've got good eyes my friend" or something like that. See them working together well. At some point the boy needs to make some mistakes but he shouldn't have needed prompting here.
My dad used to watch this show on TV in the early 1970s. It used to come on KTTV, Channel 11 , Los Angeles. Well , I like watching this too because of today's sick TV reality shows. This show makes you feel good and it taught moral values. It still holds up after 60+ years.

Michael Landon was a mere child 👶 in comparison to Dale Roberson. Now, there’s a really, really big man. Kinda like our Texan, Jimmy Dean’s song 🎶 Big John.
I love Dale Robertson!!! Great actor, so handsome, charming and sexy! He's a film and TV action star! I love him in Tales of Wells Fargo and Iron Horse!!! Both series are great! The creators, writers, directors, everyone did such an excellent job!!! Thank you very much for posting this great series.
Our family never missed watching this show as mom had the biggest crush on Dale Robertson. A wonderful show. Thanks for posting. By the time this pandemic is over I will have seen just about every show from my early childhood.

I've seen every episode of this show. I still watch it every day from 6pm to 8pm on GRIT TV 33.3 in New York City.
Loved this TV show. Dale had a smooth, easy going personality about him. The stories were well written and the bits of information added at the start and end made the show more interesting.

I wish that I could sound and act like him. He's cool without ever trying to be.
Imagine how happy they were, and imagine again how nice their films were, even so the music, it was such areal music. the life was easy and inserting too. mercy cowboy.
I watched this show when it first aired. Dale Robertson is the most authentic western actor ever in a tv show. Dale was a real westerner, from OK, really knew how to ride, fight and speak like a true westerner, which cannot be said of many actors. These 50s westerns were the real deal, before Bonanza started the western soap opera trend.

Yup, as a kid I knew that Bonanza wasn't a real western and i saw it all die right then! But thanks to KZread, the westerns are available again - but now I am too old to shoot with them and fall down on the couch, etc. as I did as a kid. O well!

Enjoyed seeing Michael Landon when he was a young actor. And Dayle Robertson with that early 60s styled haircut.
Landon starts off shooting left-handed, switches to right-handed, then switches back to left-handed. Talented guy. Should go far!

I hope one day that the medical profession can do something about pancreatic cancer. It killed some of our great actors. Michael Landon was just beginning to get a great reputation as a director when this disease hit him. And it came home to me as my next door neighbor just died from it at 35. We all miss him and Alex T as well.

He was also in The Rifleman in first starting rolls a few times.
A young Michael Landon, as Tad. Also starred in Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven. I recently watched him in two episodes of Tombstone Territory, another great western TV show. And the second bandit, Mitt, is Kevin Hagen, who appeared in many TV shows, mostly westerns. He was also a full time cast member of Little House on the Prairie, playing Dr Baker. And I remember him appearing in an episode of MASH.

Dale raised top quality quarter horse at his OK ranch and Jubileewas one of his stallions. He was an authentic ranch raised Okie cowboy- he rode Jublilee in most of his Wells Fargo TVs and, possibly , in one or more of his movies. The Western actors like Roy Rogers rode their own privately owned horse because the horses got paid to appear- besides, the actors trusted their own horse because they were familiar with them and knew throw they were react in circumstances
@conniecrawford5231

It was a great idea to take your own trusted horse to work and then collect salary for the horse as well as your own- the horse’s owner got paid for the horse’s appearance so these cowboy actors could “ double dip” and get paid for riding their own favorite horse. Sweet deal for them!

John Oyer Hey. Buddy! Did you know that the palomino “Golden Cloud” that Olivia DeHaven rose in the movie” The Adventures Of Robin Hood” was sold for $2500 to Roy Rogers who renamed him “Trigger, the Wonder Horse” and rode him for over 30 years. Roy had to buy him on a installment plan as he didn’t have $2500 - yet- as he was just starting his career. Roy’ s real name was Leonard Slye and he was born in Cincinnati, sonLeonard Slye and Golden Could became the famous Roy Rogers and Trigger! Roy raised race horselater in life and had Trigger Jr. and Young Trigger but he never bred Trigger although he remained a stallion, not a gelding, all his life!
Great Episode. Of course, Dale knew a thing or two about horses in real life, as he had his own horse ranch.

My mom took me to see him in _I Was a Teenage Werewolf_ when I was only 9. I remember bigger teenagers in the line asking my mom if I was not too young to be seeing such a horror picture. It sure did scare me but my mom started talking to me at the scene where he is changing and she pointed out the makeup and the paint on his nose and she made sure I understood that it was all make believe.
I think it's impossible for me to say that I have a favorite episode because I've never seen one I didn't like. Just like I can't say I have a favorite western series either. I ❤ watching everything from the Golden age of 📺
Great movie. Thanks for sharing it.
After the home tv man left and my mother paid for the B&W glass tubes? We could stay up and watch Wells Fargo! Actually not that long ago?
Maybe they should of had ol Jim Hardie as a hiring manager today.
Thanks...good episode!
I believe even Kevin Hagen was in this episode of well's Fargo . He later played dr. Baker in lhop.
I loved this show! Now, I do business in Placerville, CA .... as referenced in the beginning of this episode ...too funny, to me! 😊

Good episode. Could even be a real incident.
Whoa, that's a young Michael Landon
Is that you Lil Joe!? Michael was just barely a man. If that. One of the greatest actors. Played moral and inspirational parts. From Bonanza to Highway to Heaven and Little House. The good do die young, in Hollywood at least. Patrick Swayze was another.

@@kh23797 I live in the UK too, and also remember those great western series from the late 50s and early 60s. Boots and Saddles was one TV series I can only recall have seen just one or two episodes of. The day JFK was assassinated( around 7:30 pm here in the UK) I can well remember watching an episode of Bonanza on the TWW channel. ( Television Wales and the West). When they announced the news that JFK had died, the remainder of the evening's programmes were suspended. I'm really showing my age now.
