I will always have a respect for parents encouraging their children to have responsibility and love for their animals. How happy these children look and their horses, the have a job to do and they all take it very seriously and not one bloody phone or tablet in view. They are so helpful and supportive of each other. We could all learn a lot from the lifestyle and such parenting! Shame on everyone for judging what they do not know about.

Travellers horses left tethered on waste ground near industrial estates, old factories and power stations here in the UK. Never seen anyone go check on them. Saw two left near where I work on the shore of an estuary, high tide and rain came and the pair were almost lost, had to be rescued by the local farmers. This video is a bit far fetched, obviously for people who know no better. The trad music is a bit of a laugh too, never seen it played in Ireland except for the tourists, local people don't bother with it. Anyone with anything about them leaves the country, people are Irelands biggest export. Travellers just give the Irish community here in the UK a bad name.

@Tom Roland you're obviously not knowledgeable about traditional music in Ireland. Traditional music is very much alive and well. Re the horses, what you've seen I'll accept, but if you want to be believed, stick to the things you really know about and dont be making generalisations about things you dont.

If you think their language is difficult..try talking to a native born glaswegian. I once had a conversation with a glaswegian In a bar..the only word i understood was trout..as for the test..i just nodded along and smiled when he did. I was playing catch up at every word. It was like trying to catch a runway horse..boy he spoke fast. I could see the glasses rattling on the bar as he spoke in rapid sentences. The draft from his mouth blew the head off of my beer and formed a whirlpool in my pint glass. And some people think they are lazy...joking right ?

I just went to the comment section to ask which kind of shoes these horses wear, to have a grip on the road... And if it wasn't hurting their legs to run on such hard ground. That was until I saw the other comments... A horse that I once rode got unsettled, near a street by a car and tried to take off with me still on top of it, and I remember how hard it skidded on the tarmac. I felt like the horse and me were on ice with these iron shoes! Anyway, in life things are often not perfect and even if its not the best for the horses to run on tarmac, I bet the Travellers don't do it every day with them. They seem to love their horses and they look well fed and brushed. I bet those horses have a better life than many horses at commercial riding schools! I wish those people their horses, which are an essential part of their culture. And let's be honest here, they may be racing their horses on hard ground sometimes, meanwhile we are torturing our mass produced meat, egg and milk " supply" every day in masses!

These horses are beautiful and IMO, well kept in a general sense.... my ONLY issue is the running/trotting on the roads. With shoes on, they dont get much traction either and can easily slip and fall. not to mention the pounding the legs take as the hooves have no give. its like a marathoner running barefoot. It is also soooo not good for the horses legs. I would like to know how many break down and see xray reports on their legs.

Hey..stick to those horses...they are not causing global warming like all the crazy cars and trucks spewing out fossil fueled gases. I went round NZ for 2 years with my wagon and Clydesdale mare in 1972..and started that way of life here....after vehicles and tractors took over farming.

If you can believe it..gypsies are often reported for abusing their horses. They think more of their horses than some house dwellers do of their own children..and treat them better too boot. The stables are cleaner than some houses I have been in..including mine. 😀😉
