7:58: Lyn survived the fall because she has the force and Jedi can land without breaking bones, but Tech didn’t have enough Midichlorians in order to use the force to survive a fall! And one other thing, that mountain may not be higher than the imperial base that appeared in Season 2 episode 15 and 16 of Bad Batch

Barriss is too good to be an inqusistor, she’s too nice, wants to help people and is more close to her former fellow Jedi unlike the others. She’s ain’t too broken like Masana and Trilla vengeful like Reva, bloodthirsty as fifth or ambitious like Seventh or the grand inquisitor. I’m glad Barriss was able to do what the other can’t: find the light.

I wasn’t expecting Barris to reform this soon. Then again it has been a few years since Barris joined the inquisitors so maybe it wasn’t that soon. Anyway I’m glad that she finally realized, pun not intended, that while the Jedi have lost their way, the Empire is much more corrupt than they were.

Barris fell from grace in Jedi order because she didn’t like what they were doing by being soldiers and not keepers of the peace so being a Jedi has always been in there it just took seeing what the empire is doing to the people that brought it out of her

one thing I love about Barriss story is that she was the ideal Inquisitor. A representitive of what the Inquisitors, and the Empires, attitude should be. Harsh but fair. The line of "Let us finish our task so they can prosper" really shines. It's what us Empire Stans like about the Empire. It's what we feel when we say things like "The Empire did nothing wrong" lol. The Empire had the potential to be that morally gray kinda thing. However, Barriss (and by extension us) are seeing that there is something wrong with the Empire. Barriss sensed it during the Clone Wars and thought it was the Jedi. This kind of thing is what dissapointed me so much about Andor. I wanted the ISB to be that element or at least have some element of genuine care for the people of the Empire. Instead we got comically evil characatures of a secret police. Seriously, the head ISB guy needed a curly mustache to twirl, a monacle and top hat and it would have been complete. See below for my tangent on Andor if interested. Filoni, however, is back at it again and "fixing" whats wrong with (or more realistically retroactivley making better) other Star Wars media. This short but sweet series shows the problem with the Republic and the Empire is Palpatine. He is the rotten element corrupting and stagnating everything he touches. We also saw Thrawn come to a similar conclusion. Neither of them understood it was Palpatine and his "cult of personality" leadership and designing the Empire to implode on itself if he ever died and to use whatever means nescessary to gain immortality for himself. Somehow this is making Palpatines return slightly better. At least more understandable or believable. Well at least somehow making Palpatine an even more evil and hateable/enjoyable villain. The galaxy cannot prosper as long as Palpatine exists and he is making it damn hard to make him not exist. Andor rant: As for my my idea of what to do differently with the portrayl of the ISB, because I believe if you complain about something you should have some alternative or meaningful contribution to address the complaint (or at least acknowledge you don't even know what else you would have done), would be to have the ISB turn the heist of the payroll into what it really was. Theft from the hard working people of the Empire. It wasn't the Empires money they stole, it was yours (the people)! The money you earned working hard to make the Empire a better place for yourself, your family, your friends, your fellow citizens of the Empire. But fear not! The Empire will not stand for this blatent attack on it's citizens! We will be providing aide to those affected by the heist! Food and supplies will be brought in to help you in this troublesome time until we can muster the nescessary funds to replace your stolen wages. The Empire prospers and the wages that have been stolen will not be deprived from you but we ask for your patientce until we are able to get the funding needed. The quickest way to ensure your wages are returned to you is to come forward with any information that will help lead to the capture of the thieves and the recovery of the stolen payroll! There are disturbing rumors that some group intends to use these funds for a terrorist orginization. Some whisper of a rebellion. I ask you this, citizens of the Empire. Is this the act of people with your best intrest in mind? Stealing your wages? Subjecting you to the uncertainty of being able to feed your families? To shelter them? To collapse the peace that so many sacrificed their lives for during the Clone Wars? To start another Civil War? Anyway I was hoping for more people in the Empire being like Agent Callus or Crosshair. People who believe the Empire is the right direction for the galaxy and support it becuase they are good people. Like with Agent Callus they come to realize something is wrong with the Empire. Certain things don't make sense. IDK I just think that angle makes the Empire and the people that support it more interesting and therefore better stories are told than just them all being evil assholes. TLDR; I wanted the ISB to somewhat care about the citizens of the Empire and believe they were doing the right thing in hunting down Andor and crew, not be so blatently and purely evil about it. also completely off subject but anyone else kinda want there to be a huge heel turn with Thrawn after Ahsoka? Like Thrawn just pulls up to the New Republic and asks to join them? Like, he doesn't care that the Empire is gone and replaced and he does just want to help the galaxy prosper and offers to help the New Republic. I was kind of hoping we would see Thrawn arrive to the galaxy and meet with a Republic cruiser or something and politely ask them to move becuase his deal with the Night Mothers was to deliver their dead to a new resting place. He does not desire conflict over helping a group of refugees bury their dead and rebuild their destroyed culture and society. Like, there was nothing overtly evil or sinister going on with those coffins and he just was fulfilling a contract he made so he could return to the main galaxy. It would make a little sense becuase of how Thrawn values art and a culture as rich and ancient as the Dathomiri withces would be a terrible loss in Thrawns eyes. Yes, he was fighting Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka so I'm sure there is evil going on and Thrawn is a villian but I would like his excuse being "I tried to make peace with Ezra but he made it clear he would kill me no matter what I said or did. It is very unwise to leave a jedi who is commited to killing you alone and alive. I did what I had to. For my own protection. I released Sabine and gave her everything she needed for her journey, even though I wasn't the one that made the promise to her. I honor the word of my subordinates, even when they give it without my knowledge or order. Even though it put my life and the lives of my men at greater risk." Lol imagine if it turns out Ezra is the villain and turned to the dark side and Thrawn is now their best hope to stop him since Ahsoka and Sabine are trapped in a galaxy far far away... Last thing I hope beyond hope is that Jack Blacks character turns out to be a crazy military genius that was like Thrawns greatest rival (becuase his strategies were so chaotic and unpredictable) and during the fall of the Empire stole the identity of some droid tech subordinate to avoid being tried as a war criminal (which would explain why he had no clue what was wrong with the droids despite claiming to be an expert). Thrawn kills his wife in an attack meant for him and in the final battle he and Christopher Lloyd show up with an army of battle droids to avenge her and Jack Black just goes absolutely ham ordering the droids with crazy tactics and shit to help defeat Thrawn. Like full insane Jack Black performance with Christopher Lloyd also hamming it up and they just improv off each other.

One of the things that I’m curious about is seeing some fully converted inquisitors seemingly very quickly after order 66, like in the LAST episode. Doesn’t this mean that Palpatine had already been grooming them, and had possibly already converted them, before order 66?

  • @kristofferremmell

This is confusing. This young Jedi calls Barriss a murderer, but she says ‘No.’ Uh, Barriss bombed the Jedi Temple, killing quite a few, she murdered her coconspirators, framed Ahsoka for that murder, attempted to kill Ahsoka, Asajj, and Anakin, was un-remorseful at the trial, and murdered a Jedi to get her job as an Inquisitor. Not to mention she played a role in the massacre of the villain. She’s murdered a lot of people, but now feels bad about it? How did they let her be an Inquisitor so easily or seem to not understand the job was to kill Jedi, not capture? When we saw what happened to Trilla. This attempted redemption doesn’t feel earned.

Love the Barriss arc, and loving your reactions! I do have to disagree on Lyn, though, particularly through this middle segment -- the way she acts typifies what I'd class under the trope Stupid Evil. Barriss was able to convince the kid to give up the information they wanted for their actual target, and Lyn, well, Lyn decides to slaughter everyone in a fit of pique and pretend it was for the good of the Empire because, uh, something something respect? The dichotomy between the way the Empire is portrayed in individuals like Thrawn, and quite a bit in shows like Andor, compared to the gross corruption, authoritarian bullying, and inept posturing we see in a lot of the officer corps and the Inquisitors, is striking. It makes the Empire self-defeating, in the end, because what professionalism and training its enforcers actually possess is perpetually undermined by the rot at the heart of it -- which you have to assume wasn't actually Palpatine's plan? I'm rambling. **wry grin** That noted, would you do a reaction to SWFT's new fanvid "Inside the Empire"?

Something I've noticed about Lyn is that she's very efficient at fighting and killing unarmed civilians, but not so good at fighting anyone who can actually fight back. Kinda reminds me of the soldiers of a certain real life military right now. I wonder why.

When saw the episodes I didn't quite get if calling the Jedi "them" was something grammarly correct or if it was a new attepmpt to be "non-gender assuming" issue cause non other reactor has noticed it as you did (cause you're Queen, Girl!) This is what the Sith are all about....Power, Passion, Order. But even in the Dark Side, there's always that tiny little inkling of Light. We saw this in Barriss, when she shows mercy to the mysterious "Mountain Jedi" .......but we also see it from Vader himself.....in my FAVORITE scene, from "Return of the Jedi"....The biggest badass Lord of the Sith is dying and says to his son, "You were right about me.... Tell your sister.....you were right." :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/aKB6tLSShcrfqps.html On a last note, I agree that Tales of the Empire, so far is WAY BETTER than any of the Tales of the Jedi stuff (it was kinda boring).
