Treatment success depends on proper diagnosis which can be best done with naked eye examination. Better to show to nearby dermatologist. There are so many other options apart from coal tar like steroid lotions, salicylic acid etc. I can't comment which medicine will suit you without examining.

Simple dandruff aanenkil polum proper care kond mathrame ath control cheyyan kazhiyu. Do proper washing (don't over wash!), Use a good antidandruff shampoo (eg. Kz plus shampoo, scalp plus shampoo etc), conditioner etc.
