5 years ago i watched initial D i was 15 and it got me to persue cars not only as a career but as a passion

I like that in ep 14 when shingo is following the song is "Don't Stand so close to me" as if it was a warning from Shingo doing the bump. And in ep 15 the Song "I need your love" when it is focused on Takumi it starts with the pre-chorus "I go crazy, thinking about you" showing Takumi is now fully nuts. Sometimes Eurobeats in this franchise are used to symbolize something within specific lyrics. If you pay attention you will get it and that is why the music following the races for the most time it gives that feeling of: epicity!

Sorry bro I get so in the moment during these races I usually go in on everyone takumi races, but this time I was mad with Takumi. It's better the race ended this way and not with an actual death, I would've probably felt bad for roasting him lowkey lol. BUT you can't say he's just a nice guy, he purposely bumped your 2 closest friends on a corner putting one in a hospital and then bumped YOU too to win and then was even willing to crash both of us so we both lose. That's like 4 strikes lol. I mean it's good that he changed in the end, but everything beforehand had intention behind it. We wouldn't forgive a murderer on trial just because he cried and had a change of heart while in the courtroom or told us a sad backstory. I understand where you're coming from though. I'll ease up on him if he actually eases up on the homies now. I like your perspective on it

FF is front engine and front wheel drive FR is front engine and rear wheel drive. This type of race favors front wheel drive cars cause I’m assuming they control the steering with the accelerator more than an FR would or the FF is just more naturally oversteery

with an ff you can "drift" and turn using your handrake so you don't need to turn that much with your steeringwheel

Yes, the advantage to front wheel drive is that you can attack the corner at a higher speed, when the front tires start to slide you can just tap the brakes to put more weight on them and stop the slide (understeer) also, you can easily correct for oversteer by using the handbrake (parking brake) when the rear starts to slide out you can stop it by pulling the handbrake a little, or pumping it so you don't lock the tires.

FF is understeery, but you can kill this effect by accelerating during the turn. i was driving naturally like this for 4 years like it was normal and i realized what i was doing when i saw this episode

I don’t think it’s underrated and yes I love that scene I even want to recreate that scene in stop motion form but I think Initial D as a haul is just underrated

At the time, I also hated Shingo so much that I also thought he deserved to crash worse, end up in the ravine or something. But Takumi is one of the good guys, who won't go as low as him, and Iketani proved to him the same thing, that he is better than Shingo. And in the end, Shingo's big punishment, is to wake up from his stupidity and see, face the consequences of his actions with his beautiful car severely damaged, his wrist sprained which is going to prevent him from driving for a long, long time, and the very, very big humiliation he suffered at Takumi's hands. So much so, that it made him cry a little and even admire Takumi's skill. PS: I didn't leave you with your fist there, I brought it closer to the monitor on behalf of Iketani, haha....

Bruuuh they make you hate Shingo so much. But after reading this comment I think you're right, bro got his punishment in the end. My competitive side comes out by the end of each race I usually go in on every character until Takumi wins. I was saying for shingo to die but I would've probably felt bad if he actually did, I just be in the moment watching these races lmao. Yea I'm assuming he's gonna turn a new leaf after being disrespected like this. BIG W for Takumi. Thanks for not leaving me hanging! You the homie! lmao

when he drifted around the oncoming car in front of the brothers, that's my #2 favorite move in this stage. it's not super crazy or anything either, but that takes skill and serious willpower to not get rattled

Yeah I thought it was about to be BAD. But Takumi actually attentive enough to notice headlights from the corner before it was too late, and the fact that he's duct tape while doing this maneuver too is insane. Also i guess props to Shingo too for avoiding too, that was pretty smooth. It was so many dope moves they used in this race bro

FF is where the engine is in front and also is front wheel drive and FR is the same engine in the front but its rear wheel drive. theres also MR which is a mid engine car with rear wheel drive

Whenever I see Shingo C O O L V I B R A T I O N S

"shifting the weight without steering" he still has to steer, but using a limited range, it could be done but you have to make the small steering adjustment very fast to throw the cars balance. basically whipping the wheel hard to start the drift then hard back to stabilize it. if you're driving at say 40 and you pull the wheel back and forth as fast as you can the car will sway hard and eventually break traction, if you make the turns slower you will just weave around

hard to notice, but when he went into the grass, it was a slope and he used it like a banked track, just like bouncing the rear off the guard rail to swing it back the other way. he's using his knowledge of the road to his absolute advantage.

By the way, it's not just at the gas station, in Japan they are very helpful in everything that has to do with customer service. They are professionals. But... it also has its dark side, culturally, for those who are not from Japan and don't understand the culture. For instance, they are not allowed to say no. They have certain customer service policies that are ridiculous. Let's say at a McDonalds or other food or beverage place, you can ask for a refill on your glass of soda, so you take the glass you've already used and they refill it for you. Not there. In some places, they just give you a new glass. But here comes the complicated part because as I said, they are forbidden to use words like no, when it comes to customer service, they get into a short circuit in which they can't explain to you that they can't refill your glass, but at the same time they can't tell you because it would mean telling you no. Is that understood? This is an experience told by a youtuber from Spain, who lived many years in Japan. And well, anecdotes like that are abundant in Japanese culture.

Another great video, was late because I caught, the virus. very sad, this video cheered me up! Shingo did get his karma tho

Basically the duct tape thing is kind of realistic (in more motorsport situations apart from pro drifting, the wheel doesn't need to be fed, and normally the less steering input the faster

Also with the start ik shingo wanted to be behind but with a ff car they launch from a stop really slow because the front tires have to drag the car so I feel like shingo was expecting to be behind and had it all planned anyway but backfired

You mean the fire they continually burn my eardrums with every episode?? Nah, I enjoy this music type that they picked for this anime. It matches the "hyper" energy they create during a race. Music wise it's a category I would probably never run into if exploring music on my own. But now that I'm watching this anime it's introducing me to this category and making me like it more as it's used for the races and right context.

It's pretty clear that he has a piece of shit personnality, but there's a pretty big difference. A 30 year old who behaves like a piece of shit in public is just that, a piece of shit, but if it's a teenager, it's kind of different. Teenagers are just mentally and emotionally weird (They aren't all psychos obviously), but you know what I mean, we've all been there. Stuff like that is kind of a learning experience at that age, I guess. That's why he went from trying to crash into Takumi to win the race like an idiot, but after crashing because of it, he cries, and he doesn't really know what to feel. That's why he doesn't actually deserve to die, he's making mistakes. Anyways, C O O L V I B R A T I O N S

I drive like this on simulators. The game Assetto Corsa on PC has most initial D mountain passes as modded tracks, as they're based on real roads. On the TougeLife Mt Akina server there's usually 10-32 people doing similar driving at any time. A lot of the techniques in Initial D I've tried myself in game, and I mostly drive the drift tuned AE86.
