2023 here. Been listening to this mix since 2014... 34 years old now, time flies!!

10 years ago, this mix helped me get through my issues and suicidal thoughts. Now a decade later, listening takes a different meaning. I got my life together and have all the things I didn’t think I’d have. Never give up, it always gets better.

@@AffectiveApe Hey, while experiencing a very seriously heartbreaking breakup can lead to suicidal thoughts and actions it is more likely he suffered from ongoing mental pain for a long time before the breakup. So it's not just "a silly breakup". And even if the breakup was the only reason - it wasn't "silly"for him.

I listened to this 10 years ago when I was homeless and going through a panic attack from alcohol. I didn't know at the time but the man holding his child's hand is the Lord. Throughout my life I had tried to end it all because of my pain. Today I am grateful to be alive and I have the answers I didn't know I needed. I know why I am here and now I can help those who have faced a similar life. I also know that even though it is a dark time in the world, there approaches hope.

I've been having a really bad day. So I decided to go for an hour drive in the mountains while playing this song and let me just say the beautiful scenery with the snow capped pine trees, crisp air, powdery snow, and this music playing in the background put me a level a peace I have never experienced before. My bad day was cured and I instantly gained the confidence to go back out there and conquer this day!!!! :)

Cannot believe it's been over ten years I've been listening to this mix, and nostalgia has only enhanced my emotional response to these tracks. I throw this mix on, and suddenly I'm a late teenager in the car with all my closest friends heading off on our next adventure. I'm drifting to sleep safe in my mother's home. Its in my headphones as I walk a slowly winding dirt path through a pine forest. It's late in my bedroom as I am studying and focusing on homework. I'm continuing the vibes after returning from a night out of live music, unwilling to come down. Some of my best and some of my worst parts of my life were experienced to this soundtrack. Thank you. For the last 5 years this mix has been my favorite one for whenever I needed to focus studying for exams. I'm studying a double degree in Aeroespace Engineering and Telecomunications Engineering. I was due to finish this year, and I always thought that the last day of study before my last exam I should put this mix in the background, just for the memories. Then, Coronavirus happened, and my university decided that we should take our exams online. So instead of having my last day of studying with this mix, I actually DID the exam with this mix on the background. I was really nervous, but as soon as it started playing, I focused like it was just another boring afternoon. I got a 10. Exams are over now, forever. Thank you, MrSuicideSheep.

I was also inspired by this music a long time ago in high school and felt similarly. This and a few other mixes inspired me to try to learn production as well. How can a mix be this good for over 10 years!!!!!

Since 2014 I have done a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and now a PhD in Psychology ALL while listening to these 'Taking You Higher' Mixes. Unbelievable.

I've felt happiness since July 2022 - quite a lot, actually. But this takes me back to a different type of happiness. More innocence. No impending doom. No constant anxiety. A slower pace, but with more energy, hope & unrestricted Love from everyone. Such a beautiful time & I hope you all were blessed to be a part of it - every bass drop, every melody

I discovered this mix back in early 2013 sat alone in my bedroom with just a small lamp on at about 4am. Let’s just say that certain things that night had heightened my senses and every time I hear this now I just look back with nostalgia and happiness at the sheer euphoria I felt in that moment. Towards the end of the mix the sun started to come up which only added to the experience.

I remember listening to this mix back in 2014/15. I was happy and I didnt know, I was learning english back those days, playing volleyball for my country, travelling all the places as an athlete. Last year I was in the army as a private. My life changed so much in such small period of time. This mix is the only thing I can remember back those days, every single time I'm in a bad situation, lost in my thoughts, trying to figure out my next move I come back to this mix. It is definately my safe spot in this world. Quick toughts about the world nowadays, a virtual place is a safe spot for a real person to forget about the entire world, the poverty, wars, and all the misery is happening around the globe now. If you are in the same situation as me, we are going to get better soon, we must continue our journey, nobody is going to help us unless we help ourselves first. Found this mix probably almost 10 years ago when it was posted. This was what I listened to when I was trying to focus and build things with code. This gave me the inspiration to get things done, to get in the zone. These days I'm a senior software engineer and have "made it". This playlist helped me through all of that and is quite literally one of the best!

Got a big smile in my face when The Veldt came on :)

Might sound strange, but I discovered this mix a couple of years ago when I was going through a really rough time in my life, and I believe it somehow helped me get through it a little easier. I used to listen to it every day during that time. Now when I hear it, it still brings me a sense of calmness. I'm also really grateful that I'm no longer in that bad place.

Monsiuer Bublé No actually progressive house was called so beacause it progresses throughout the whole track and there is not such a thing like a drop or any climax. The song starts with a melody or drumbeat and then different elements come on top and go away, thats what makes it so beautiful and chill in my opinion. :)

I listened to this and other 'taking you higher' when I was studying for the entry exam of our Business school. Now I'm finishing my Master's! Time flies make the best of it!

Fun Fact: This lyrics and the origin of this song comes from the short "horror" story of the same name (The Veldt by Ray Bradbury). If you have the time, you should read it (you can online), it makes the song much more meaningful! Also, if you liked The Veldt, you should hear some of Deadmau5's other stuff, he's pretty good when it comes to progressive house (I would recommend "There Might Be Coffee").

10 years ago, I was in a very stressful job. I was so grateful I found this mix. It helped me put my nose down and focus on my work. Today, the job is still really stressful, but I have broadened my horizons to include several more mixes that give me the energy to power through every day. But this one's the original. Thank you for opening my ears to progressive house.

This mix is absolutely legendary, along with the subsequent Taking You Higher mixes

I used to blast these while traveling around Europe as a tour guide. Great memories. Reminds me of a good evening with good people on a beach in Croatia.

I still come back here to relive my senior year of high school. Time flies ✈️

There is a bird outside my window singing to this song, it's beautiful. I know I'm not tripping because I paused it and it kept singing. It was just so in tune with the remix.. Nature and music combined is absolutely breathtaking!

This is the best mix ever - I get shivers every time I hear that intro. Reminds me of Tenerife carnival holidays I went on in 2013 - lazing on top deck of a small yacht in the sun, with dolphins swimming all around and a light breeze to remind you you're in paradise, all while listening to this mix. Bliss :3 I went through this mix several times then and it's hands down the best holiday mix around. Stark contrast to UK summertime - dark, cloudy, raining and muggy. Gives you a bit of cheer amidst all the gray.

Still holds up after all these years. You'll probably never read this, but I'm proud of you Sheepy. I remember back in the early 2010s when you were just another obscure KZread music channel that no one else in my city had ever heard of. Now you're hitting millions with uploads! Hope you're life is full of happiness and wonder wherever you are right now.

go for a road trip, just walk outside on a nice day with this on... I dont care how you do it, just include this and go insane!

2024! Listened to this about 8 years ago and am still continuing to listen now
