Taking TRT with normal Testosterone levels if having symptoms of low T

Спорт

In this episode of Ask the Doc, Dr. Rand McClain answers one viewer's question about what to do if he CURRENTLY has normal Test levels according to bloodwork, but is experiencing symptoms of low T levels. We also deal with the TRUTH about AI and HCG, and how to use them properly.

    I started TRT to help with my PTSD. It was the only thing that helped. The main symptom I was having was the inability to enjoy anything. I do mean anything. Shooting guns, riding motorcycles, off-roading, camping, hiking, exercise, I felt nothing. It was either this or ending it all (wasn’t being dramatic, life is pointless when you feel that low for years). I’m glad it helped, hopefully I don’t have to do it forever, but knowing it basically solved the problem while I’m on makes me happy. I could care less about “gains” or my physical appearance. I’m not a bodybuilder, but I’m thankful to the guys at the gym that are bodybuilders, they’re extremely helpful and positive dudes.

    This series really was priceless.. still is.. I wish half the trt docs out there would watch all of these videos before prescribing. 90% of the endos or trt docs out there are cookie cutter trash who truly don't understand what they have read I'm books. Unable to relate and just flat out don't understand. It's super frustrating.

    Aloha Doc! You said in one of your videos average dosage of TRT is 1cc of 200mg . My doctor prescribed me 0.25cc of 50mg of testosterone. No HCG no Aromatase . It's pain in the butt to use the small bottle of testosterone 1 cc 4x! Since I suppose to use only 0.25cc also I end up geting only 3 usage instead 4 from the bottle since 0.10cc or so end up in the needle and syringe after use. Got 3 of 200mg 1cc bottles for 12 weeks but end up only with 9 weeks .Im on week 5 now. Isn't 50mg of testosterone a week too low? Feels like Im injecting my self for nothing and waisting money since 3 shots end up in a garbage, in my 9 weeks. Im still tired and sleepy after a nap or dinner. I have been working out for 22 years and lately not exited to go to gym anymore. My stress level is very high. I think my doctor said my testosterone level is very low 26 my other testosterone to have children is in normal. I am scheduled for my visit next week to see my doc. to do a blood work. Doc said come in 6 weeks for check up. I'd rather use the one bottle 1cc 200mg/week like you mentioned instead 4x just 50mg which end up just 3x instead. And don't think it's good to keep reusing same small bottle with needless,should be just one use what they told me in my pharmacy ,but than prescribed to use the same bottle 4x anyway. What would you suggest Doc? Thank you!

    Im in my mid-20s with ZERO libido. My Total T is about 300 and my Free T is 7.2. Doctor said, "this is completely normal." I don't think so... Married, healthy, active, but I have sex 6-8 times a year, struggle with putting on muscle and losing fat, and am constantly fatigued and foggy... but hey... Between 25-29, I guess a 7 and 300 are "totally normal".... Though they did offer me a "psych" exam... -_-

    good videos dude , why do ''almost'' all gps offer antidepresants rather than testing hormone levels ? and why is it so hard to get ''hrt'' if ur a male ??? women manipulate their hormones at a young age ''the pill' for instance , so they can have '' unsafe sex'' an not get pregnant also every female can have 'hrt' when the menopause hits !?!? but men find it almost impossible to get treatment

    Personally I’m getting off Clomid and will be using no fertility drugs. If you’re sperm count is low before going on then maybe you should. But Clomid blocks e2 receptors and that could lead to problems down the road as E2 is actually good for you.

    Thank you for your video. I am 39 almost 40 year old Man, I recently got my testosterone levels checked, the results were (test. Total 5.49 ng/ml), and other reading is 1.7 ng/ml, is that low? I am confused and the doctors at the trt clinic refuse to give me testosterone because they say "my test. Levels are normal". So am I normal regarding my testosterone levels?

    Do you mean nm/ml measurements? Even if, yes, that is extremely low. Can't be ng/ml. You'd be a woman at those numbers.

  • @1brunner699

    @1brunner699

    Testosterone level is typically express in ng/dl (nano grams per deciliter) so your total of 5.49 is actually 549 ng/dl which is within the accepted therapeutic range of 300-1,000. What is the other lab reading of 1.7? Is that also total testosterone? What time of day were these drawn? Testosterone is usually peaked at around 6 am and the lowest around 6pm and not much higher at bedtime. Are you experiencing symptoms of low T?
