Those consoles are such a specific thing, only LDs really know about them, so I bet that most of thiefs won't even know the value of them ;-)

@@macieksoft a buddy of mine his home got broken into. He had an MA3 full size in case standing in his home and they took almost everything except the console.

One thing to note about parameters is MA increased the XT mode 3 parameters to 8192 and the MA3 Light parameters to 16384

I have been touring with an MA3 onPC with Command Wing in Australia for 2 months now and so far it has been fantastic. Couple of little bugs here and there, but for the most part it has been great! Really enjoying using the software and getting a nice head start on it.

Great Video as always, Christian! So will you run the show simultaneously on your ma2 light and ma3 in mode3? How will you then establish a backup-capable system with the show running in two modes? Maybe by doing the show primarily in ma2 world and merging in the sacn stream from the compact xt? Can't wait for more videos! =)

Cool! I’m going on tour with the National Touring Theatre of Sweden in the fall season. The shows are already programmed on MA2 though, so I’ll stick to that. We have bought a couple of Compacts, so if any of those are available I’ll probably switch to MA3 in the beginning of 2022 for the next show I’m doing. Hopefully a couple of big updates has been implemented by then. There still is some functions that I would like to have that is not there yet.

Hey Martin, what functions are you missing? I am going to do my finals in eventteknik in Denmark in about a month, and i will be using a MA3 xt with showkontrol, a media server and a bunch of fixtures. I am really looking forward to use 'recipies' and 'MAgic'

Hej @@mathiashakonsson2448 There is a couple of larger things. For one, MIB doesn´t work with multi instance fixtures yet. Another pretty anoying bug can be read about here forum.malighting.com/thread/4961-preses-fade-cue-fade/?postID=12367#post12367 I also think that the phaser engine needs some more funktions. I´m missing features like "take selection", "take MATrixs" and whatnot at the moment. It´s getting there, definitely, though, in my mind. I think recepies especially is going to be a game changer, once we learn where and when to use it in the most efficient way:-) Good luck with your finals!

Negative so far about the 3 is that it breaks down way more often even with the ma 2 software. Since the TV Studio I work in upgraded to 3/20 lights had to be repaired. Also: how do you open this thing? It doesnt has a proper hinge like the 1 used to have.

It would be perfect if the grand MA can change the order of the lamps like the Avolites taitan lamp console. The order of the lamps and lanterns of the MA lamp console is very rigid. I sincerely hope that you can give feedback to the software and technical developers of MA Company.

An MA3 compact XT will also fit in the trunk of a 2003 Toyota Camry.

I yet also have a gen3 4runner from 2000. somehow still runs fine 6:11

@@ciaochiang3060 As far as I know grandMA2onPC is a Windows exclusive. You either run a virtual machine with Windows on your MAC or create a DualBoot with both Windows and MAC on your PC. Unless you wanna waste a shit load of money on a MA2 Console

It would be perfect if the grand MA can change the order of the lamps like the Avolites taitan lamp console. The order of the lamps and lanterns of the MA lamp console is very rigid. I sincerely hope that the order of the lamp selection of the MA lamp console can be changed at will according to your own ideas. The ma technique is very troublesome to use with different lamp numbers or odd number of lamps.I sincerely hope that you can give feedback to the software and technical developers of MA the company .

But how could u explain such errors in the beginning, why does it happened? That was scary though 😅

Can always go for a light or full or crv versions of those. That’s probably what I would do. Or just throw a ups in my foh rack for next to nothing. It’s nice to have the option

hey Christian, im coming over in a couple of years time to the states From New Zealand, i would like the chance to meet up with you maybe work as a tech on one of the shows (will work for free :) ) my father in law passed away two weeks ago and he wants his ashes spread along route 66, we are starting Missouri finishing in Vegas, then we are going to head to Washington and back down the coast to Santa Monica before we head over to Florida for our departure back to New Zealand,,

Thanks for the offer, but you should not work for free. It can undermine the efforts of people who need to make a living and can’t afford to work for free. Very sorry to hear about your father in law and I hope you can enjoy your time stateside :)
