"Constraints breed ceativity" - that is very true. I love being creative, but the endlessness of it can be a bit overwhelming at times.
"Creativity is nothing more than problem solving" Having this mindset I finally made my first youtube video that I am satisfied with to upload. Thanks Jake, love your style as always and thanks for your work!

Thanks so much! And congrats on the video!! 🙌🙌
This was a 360-behind-the-back-under-the-leg-through-the-camera-bag-strap slam dunk. Such a fun mix of story, tutorial, life advice, and feel good content.

Hahaha you're the man. Thanks a ton Shaffer 🤘
It's amazing what you can create from almost nothing when you put your mind to it. Sometimes being out and about is almost like a distraction because there's so many possibilities, but when we're just at home/in one place we're stretched creatively.

totally agree!
Totally agree Jake! Constraints force one to think outside of the box for more innovative ideas. Bought the new presets and I'm loving them!
My KZread photo is me standing awkwardly in an ugly field with some sort of crop behind me, struggling to be in focus whilst I have a remote shutter in hand. I'd do it all again though because it's fun times haha

Hahaha yes!! That's the good stuff
Thank you so much dude!!! I’m a fellow person who lives in Colorado. I’ve watched your videos for years now, and you’ve inspired me to change my life. Making videos, and doing photography has been my love since I was accidentally place into a photography class my freshman year in high school. I wanted to be a photographer so bad as a kid, my family supported me on this dream until I became an adult. After that I was told to get a real job, and that photography was never an option for a career, and it was drilled into me that the more I messed with cameras the more I was just waisting my life. I got job as a photojournalist, but after that job ended the pressure from my family to conform to the daily grind slowly eroded my passion for photography. I got married had a kid, and slowly became miserable with trying to conform to the life I was told I had to live. My wife has always pushed me to follow my passion, but I kept feeling like I was too old, and that one day if I just pushed myself hard enough I would find a job, that at the very least I could find some form of contentment with. Between my wife constantly encouraging me to pursue my love for cameras, and your videos being a constant pull on the creativity in my heart, at 26 I finally rediscovered my passion all over again last year. I’ve worked like never before on my dreams, created this KZread channel, and I posted my first video today. I have a lot of camera equipment coming in the mail, and I hope with it I can make a career out of this, and be another success story like you, so I can be an example to younger generations that you don’t have to give up on your dreams like I did, when I became an adult.
Alright, Jake, I am in my 50's and usually, I don't comment very often on channels. I became a subscriber with the video you made about Matti. It was incredibly clever and honest, I love watching young people like you just laying it out there and not looking back, also taking chances, and pushing through the tough times. One of my favorite books is the Alchemist by Paolo Coehelo there is a quote that says" it is the possibilities of having your dream come true that makes life interesting" so keep at it. It is a wonderful thing. May you have the time of your life while you travel this world because there are no do-overs once we reach the end.
as a fellow photographer and creative, i have definitely used that saying a lot, " through constriction, comes creativity" along with the "happy accidents", they seem to go hand in hand sometimes. I really love your work, Jake, keep it up man!
"Constraints breed creativity" - Very true, and great thing to go by when you don't have much equipment in the first place. Awesome video Jake.
I am working on creating a series of short films this month and at first I was feeling super overwhelmed when I realized they could be ANYTHING. But by limiting myself to one camera, reducing the amount of locations, making them a certain length, and not overthinking every shot...it started making getting started and creating easier! Great video!
This actually just gave me motivation to take some self-portraits at home. I rarely see it as an option because every single room is so cramped, but I could actually surprise myself if I just cut with this demoralizing internal dialogue and just went for it! Amazing video, once again, Jake. I always get that spark of inspiration with your videos, it's incredible, thank you for creating, lots of love
Appreciating you! The insight, inspiration and motivation i get from your videos... love your realness, creativity and film making 😊🤙
This is true. I'm glad I'm not alone when it comes to being overwhelmed by my own creativity.
All in good time! You’ve changed my life all in good time and I can’t wait to keep seeing your creativity
So good!! Inspiring. When channels get so big with so many subscribers they seem to change and become painfully commercial and flashy. It's hard to relate. Wishing you the greatest success . Thank you for your humble authenticity. 👊😎
I absolutely love the laptop photolesion shots, background light is adding that extra depth! I got to agree infinite possibilities are scary and overwhelming but simple constrains such as time ( make sh%t happen in 60 minutes) makes task just that much more manageable! great video!
That part at the beginning with the stove was so well done, brilliant storytelling and way to set up the topic of the video! 🤩
I just really need to dig in and get my channel going! Thanks man, your videos are always inspiring!
I'm new to your channel and I want to thank you for the inspiration and the motivation to find creative solutions Jake!
You and us both brother! Diving into the unknown in this creative space is always nerve racking. It's like the time we picked up a camera and started to talk for KZread for the first time. In creation and life, comfort kills, and discomfort breeds growth. Great vlog brother, very inspiring with the limited options you had here!

You were superbly creative on this. All the shots turned out well and I love it! Awesome vid
Love it.!!Amazing video. You inspire me to be better. Thanks
yes finally new video from jake frew ..... i like it
Yes! You are one of my favorite, most likable KZreadrs. The floundering comment put a smile on my face. Anytime I try to take a selfie I feel kind of like a fraud. Floundering encapsulates the way I feel every time and knowing other people feel that way too makes me feel less like a flounder and more like taking a selfie. But even with my small channel and Instagram people seem to really appreciate.
Love this my friend ❤️ thankyou for sharing 🙏

Awesome vid. Keep em coming.
“I’m the type of person that gets overwhelmed easily.” Stop talking about me Jake lol
I enjoy your videos, I was hearing about you going out your comfort zone, taking pictures in your van to be more creative and i thought my lack of health always push me out to create solutions, I never had a comfort zone, my crazy videos show it 😅
Hey Jake, awesome video man! Thanks for this, it definitely gave me some different ideas for a different project/vlog I am working on! Definitely, the computer shots of you towards the end are excellent! Peace!

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. I'm such an "inside the box" thinker that I really struggle when it comes to creativity. Hopefully this will help me look at the possibilities.

Love your video today, love from Huntington Beach.
I have moments so often where I just feel like I want to create something but then get overwhelmed with the number of options. Creating a few self-imposed constraints might enable me to create quicker and learn something new! Thanks for the video, been going on a bit of a Frew being this morning 🔆
