Climbing in the Scottish Highlands was a magical experience with amazing bouldering on perfect sandstone and all within an unbelievable landscape.

    You should rate the boulders out of 10 in several different categories, then calculate the average score to see which make it into your top 50. Location could be one of the categories :).

    Ah but then do you weight the categories! and if a boulder is truly amazing in one category then subjectively it sometimes feels like it should be in anyway even if the average says no. There's no perfect system.

    I'm curious if you've heard of Eric Jerome from the U.S. - he is working on making a list of the top 100 double digit (V-grades) and top 100 single digit boulders in the U.S. He has a clear formula that attempts to be as objective as possible (like how obvious the start holds are, the landing, the line/feature, is it contrived, height, location, rock quality, etc.) that he uses to judge boulders. I would be curious to see what you thought of his criteria and what criteria you would prioritize if you were to make your own metrics. Love this series!@@ShaunaCoxseyClimber

    So we weren't fully clear where the start was but we think the lower start is 7C/7C+ and where I started was around 7B+ (we think). Have a go and let us know what you think! 😂

    @@ShaunaCoxseyClimber ah from what I’ve read it was 7C+ from low and 7C from the jug. I tried it when I was up there and thought it was nails haha, bunch of my friends repeated it and all thought hard 7C!

    That's right. It has been sandbagged at 7B+ from jug, but it's absolutely a 7C and lower start 7C+@@Carlosallouchimontero
