"Taking off the masks was perhaps the hardest decision I've ever had to make.
Not everyone understands. It's seen as shameful. It's seen as something one ought to keep hidden from the public eye. You don't even tell your wife about this. She won't understand. We've been conditioned from a young age to keep this kind of thing to ourselves should it ever afflict us.
We live in a culture of shame. We're all about smoke and mirrors here. Our daily life is one of masks. The mask you wear in front of your parents. The mask you wear in front of your wife. The mask you wear in front of your coworkers. The mask you wear in front of your kids.
I got tired of wearing my mask.
I stand before you a man uncovered. I have nothing to hide. I have no shame in my revelation. Public humiliation isn't something that bothers me. It was the worst and best experience of my life. At age 50, I stand before you, unemployed, borderline broke, recently fired and more excited about my life than I'd ever been. , El Fakharany held many positions in multiple regional and multinational corporations managing billion dollar investments in Egypt and the middle east for example:
- Managing director and vice president of governmental relations at Careem
- Regional director for Google Egypt and middle east
- Held many positions in IBM Middle East & Africa , 3COM middle east, Oracle , and more. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

اللقاء كان حلو جدا حتي الدقيقه 11:20 قفلت الفيديو لما قال فيه أمثله عايز يحرقها من القاموس المصري ومنها الخيرة فيما اختاره الله مالها اختيارات ربنا ياعبد الله ؟ حتي العقل اللي وصلك للمناصب الكبيرة دي ماهو من عند الله تأدب مع الله يا رجل
still watching this talk when i need motiavtion
I couldn't see the idea behind this talk . All i can see is thoughts with anger and revenge . There is No couching as no presentation skills or values that get these disorganized thoughts together . I hope that we keep the true values of TEDx talks and TED of true ideas that are worth spreading .

طبعا مهندس وائل حضرتك قيمه كبيره ونتعلم منك و بسمعك من TEDX 2010 و لكن ليا تعقيب صغير ع كلامك مفيش حاجه اسمها بنتى حرقت نموذج الحمد لله و الخيره فيما اختاره الله ؟! لا هو الحمد لله و الخيره فيما اختاره الله ليسوا نموذج او مقال اخترعه المجتمع المصرى زى معلش او امشى جمب الحيط والكلام دا. دى مصطلحات دينيه ملهاش علاقه بمشكلتك وببساطه شديده حضرتك ربنا اختار ان يبتليك بالمشكله دى و اختار انه يعطيك نعمة انك تربى بنتك كويس و تكون قريبه منك و اختار ان بنتك تردلك التربيه السليمه دى و تيجى تقف جمبك وتقويك و اختار انك ان شاء الله تعدى المحنه. كل دا بإذن الله وحده وليس ليك او لبنتك دخل فيه ولكن احنا بنطبق مشيئة الله بس. مش عايز الكلام بتاعى ياخد مجرى دينى اوى ولكن دا تعقيب صغير لكلام حضرتك وقعت فيه و اتمنى متزعلش من التعقيب دا و شكرا

حد يعرف هو فين دلوقتي
واحد كان عنده ٥٠ سنة وقت هذه المخاضرة و معندوش فكرة و لا خبر عن "ما شاء الله كان و ما لم يشأ لم يكن" .. ده نتاج الانغماس فى الحياة المادية و ال Corporate life و نسيان المغزي من خلق الانسان و يطلع فى الاخر يقولك انا كويس و امي بتدعي لي و ينسي أنه أول ما يحاسب عليه العبد يوم القيامة هو الصلاة و هي ما تهون علي الإنسان مصائب الدنيا. حاجة عرة بصراحة .. و اي وغد حيقولى ايش جاب لجاب حاقوله يا روح امك انا باتكلم ٣ لغات و شغال فى مجال الsoftware & ai من ٢٥ سنة و لكن اهم من كل ده هو محاولتي حفظ القرآن الكريم قبل انقضاء العمر. اساسا انت مش محتاج بنتك تقولك خد حقك و لا تتركه .. الاسلام بيقولك خد حقك و لا تتركه و لك فى الفاروق رضى الله عنه أسوة حسنة .. بصرف النظر عن كل الانبطاح فى المجتمع المصرى و رغبة المشي جنب الحيط
والله تستاهل مش عاوز ترجع مصر اشرب من الباكبورت
