I think someone on surface level will think that stray kids "reuse" their title tracks or make the same sounding song, and I will agree to a certain extent, Gods Menu and Thunderous definitely sound like sister songs. However, with Back Door, Christmas Evel and Maniac, I'm so confident they made those 2 songs sound similar on purpose. If you look at their previous tts, I am YOU being a softer song, levanter being a rock ballad, they do have a versatile range. I think they're waiting to show their different sides again after gaining a huge amount of success and fame.

Tbh their title tracks usually end up my least favourite (except for Side effects and Levanter), but they all are definitely strong, leave a big impact and showcase their talents. In my mind the main purpose of a title track is not to be the best song of the album, or be a masterpiece, but to attract attention, to make people check them out. Their title tracks work really well in that aspect, they have cool choreos, show off their rap line, which is their strong point, the mvs look amazing as well as their visuals. And then you check out their b-sides and see all these different genres, rap-only and vocal-only songs, unit songs, and choose the area of their music that you personally enjoy. So when they have a comeback I never expect too much from the title track, but if it ends up to my liking, then it's a pleasant surprise for me. What matters to me is that the title track managed to attract new people to the fandom. If it works, then it works, and I don't care much if they reuse their sound as long as their besides are as good as they are now. Still, I wouldn't say that their title tracks sound the same, they have a pretty good variety. As you mentioned, only Thunderous and God's menu actually sound similar.

Here’s an opinion: Some idols literally just want popularity, fame and end up being some trophy husband/wife to some rich person. They have no creativity, no effort and the fans are like the company doesn’t let them. It only applies to some of the idols. Most idols don’t even care what they are singing or if they are singing they just wanna be on camera and be loved that’s it.

I agree, this is a very obvious example but look at BTS. They're the most successful group of kpop and everyone says they're overrated because they aren't the most talented group. But who says they're famous for that? Even if they're crazy talented, what made them famous wasn't if they're the most talented group or not, it's the chemistry and great teamwork that lead them to where they're. Whenever people say God’s Menu and Thunderous sound similar I want to write a full essay on it……on the surface they might because they’re both noisy and they’re of the same or very similar genres, but they’re noisy in such different ways. God’s Menu uses a lot of sirens, alarms, screeching, heavy heavy repetitive synths and even a piano line in the pre-chorus. God’s Menu starts loud and then drops down in the pre-chorus before wailing out again in the chorus. Thunderous uses a steady clap track to start before dropping into a much “emptier” first verse than God’s Menu, utilizing a traditional wind instrument and lighter percussion. The pre-chorus doesn’t drop down first before building into the chorus, it builds right from the get-go and infuses even more traditional sounds. The chorus is loud and bombastic with muted but powerful brass, and the second verse is again much emptier and calmer than God’s Menu. There’s a psych-out on the second chorus, but God’s Menu doesn’t even have a second chorus. Thunderous has a more traditional song structure whereas God’s Menu has the iconic Felix Bridge instead of a second chorus. And God’s Menu ends the way it started, with Changbin’s initial rap, while Thunderous ends on a third chorus. I just genuinely don’t understand how the two are “so alike” when they’re structured differently and utilize different primary instrumentation. Is it because they both start with Changbin and then Han? Because Felix kicks off the bridge? And? And?? What else? What am I missing??

When Woojin allegations dropped everyone turned on him, started calling him Woojail, ugly, a bully, saying they never liked him in the first place and guess what? It turned out to all be fake. How can you expect an apology for something an idol didn't even do, but when you are the one bullying them then it's all okay because reasons? Same with Garam, if she is a bully then the company should take action, not fucking ADULTS on the internet bullying a teenager for allegedly being a bully. I feel so strongly about the opinion that it’s more important for a group to have good synergy than to have individually crazy skilled people without them fitting. I feel like the authenticity of having a group is lost when companies put people together only because each person is extremely skilled (which nothing is wrong with because it can work sometimes). I just feel like even though it’s admirable that they’re talented, companies should just debut them as a solo artist if they don’t care about the cohesion of a group. Those kinds of groups always feel like it’s just random people put together; even though they’re really skilled, everything about them just feels off. You can really tell when a group has good chemistry in just the way they perform together, but many newer groups lack that because companies are trying to make super-groups for some reason.

I agree with your chemistry& teamwork > best talents and have been thinking about this myself the past week. as a music student when you put all the amazing top tier vocalists together they are more likely to hate each other and be absolute shit together than if you put people of varying talents and strengths together to create a balanced team. Same goes with dancing, if everyone thinks they are the best dancer than no one will listen to each other and there will be no synchronicity. Balance is so important. Often times groups from big companies that are “the best” of everything have no chemistry and I can’t even watch their stages without cringing

It's ok to think that someone's song is not good it that this idol is not rlly talented, but there's a difference when you say "This girl should have never debuted, her voice is awful and her dancing is trash and tasteless! The company was crazy for letting this happen." and saying "I don't think she was ready to debut at all, I don't appreciate her singing or dancing. They should leave her as a trainee for now, she just wasn't ready at all" It's not abt "sugar coating words". Its just literally abt not being rude.

I'm just still don't know what's the diffrence between the pop genre compare to other genre... I do feel like pop songs can get stuck in your head and most of them.. are very catchy but honestly, I haven't tried to listen to other genre to say that... and kpop fans will always complain about everything that exist in the world. No matter what the idols will do, it was always that way. It's becasue we all are bored with our ordinary lifes, we are hearing a lot of kpop songs so we are starting to take things for granted cause we got used to it so we complain about everything, get jealous at the idols, are actually toxic people when it comes to people we like, adore and we want to defend them and to deny things they have done to convince ourselves that they didn't do it becasue we are used and love to think the people we love are perfect.

Heavily agree with the opinion on passionate idols! I feel like there are quite a few idols who don't enjoy what they do? Especially when I see idols like Chuu from Loona or Jiheon from Fromis 9, it feels like quite a stark contrast to many other idols in the industry? It could be that they just have great stage presence, but them seem to genuinely happy to be performing and seeing fans. It's not just cuz they smile a lot, because I feel like IU and Taeyeon also seem to have a sincerity that many idols lack, and they are not consistently peppy idols. I'm not sure- it's really hard to put into words what makes them different, but I have a really hard time getting into a group if it feels like a majority of the members don't really want to be there. Perhaps it's just human intuition? We have a pretty good radar for telling if someone is lying or being fake, so maybe that's why some idols have 'vibes' that are off.

I’m half in agreement and half not on the idols not liking their job thing. I do agree that sometimes it does appear that way…but also I’m reluctant to say I’m interpreting their expressions and mannerisms correctly. For opinion 3, I think the genuineness is probably more common than you think, and the lack of spark you see in some idols can have more to do with improper treatment by the company (being overworked, no creative freedom) or just lack of training (less stage presence/not being as good at something making them not want to show it off). I'm just theorizing here obviously, but I was just thinking that because I know for most it isn't the money, they are getting paid dust unless they're really successful 😭

Some idols grow tired of the career and are obligated to stay by contract or heavy pressure from the company. Then there’s the fear of disappointing fans, even if an idol no longer enjoys the job i’m sure the fans still mean a lot and neither of us can ever really know what it would be like to leave that aspect of the field behind. Money of course plays it’s role in an idol choosing to stay even if the spark they once had is gone but I don’t think it’s the sole factor, there are so many things that go on behind the scenes.

A great example of a group where not all the members are extremely talented is Twice. I personally think they have one or two really good members and the others are passable, but when you put them together, you get a group that catches your eye and that is hard to look away from. They all complement each other's energy so well that, even if some vocals or some dancing isn't the greatest, it's always entertaining to watch and I don't really care if they aren't all incredible dancers and power vocals, because their stages never miss in my opinion.

I have to disagree with your last one. While I do believe that we shouldn't be so hard on "average" songs, because they can still be good. And I would also add that I believe companies purposely hop on trends, and simply stick with "catchy" to be smart; I think from an artistic standpoint you should always aim for the best. You should always aim for your best ability, for the best song you can create, and try your absolute best. This allows an artist to grow. It allows them to reach outside their limits and discover more creativity, inspiration, and strengths they never had previously. When it comes to Blackpink its disappointing because the company builds their comeback like it is going to be the best. They make the fans wait for literally years, building anticipation and strengthening the fans expectations, just to give them "average" music. That behavior may be smart business wise, but it's incredibly wrong artistically speaking to both the fans and the creators (Blackpink). Because as fans we know their abilities we know they can be better. Also someone's not just going to like Kpop because it has the label Kpop. "If you're looking for high quality songs all the time, then this isn't the genre for you"; If I like a music genre it's because I think the music is high quality. Back in 18 and 19 Kpop was high quality. These years are proof that they have the ability. The only reason they don't make MUSIC music, is because they want to make money. But if companies would've gone the right way about it, instead of selling themselves out, they could've done both. Not that I should have to say this bit but, this is just my opinion.

For the speech one, you can say you dislike a group or song, but you can’t go around hating on them by calling them ‘flops’ or ‘garbage’ or insulting their hard work. U can say it’s not your taste, doesn’t interest you, etc. but don’t insult them. That’s disrespect and does not apply to freedom of speech. Freedom of speech (for those who don’t know) is an article under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948. However, human rights have terms and conditions so before u use this as an excuse, learn what I’m about to say. There are 30 articles under the UDHR law which applies to almost all countries. If you use one article, but violate another article (or the same article for another person), then your actions are not justified. The 30 human rights under the UDHR are listed below: Article 1: we are all equal (UN: “should act toward each other in spirit of a brotherhood”) Article 2: everyone, despite their race, gender, sexuality etc, is entitled to the rights set out in this document. (UN: “Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.”) Article 3: right to life, liberty and security Article 4: no slavery Article 5: no inhumane or degrading treatment/punishment Article 6: Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law. Article 7: All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. Article 8: Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law. Article 9: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. Article 10: right to a fair and public trial Article 11: innocent until proven guilty Article 12: right to privacy, family and home Article 13: freedom of movement (nationally and internationally) Article 14: right to asylum seeking. Article 15: right to a nationality Article 16: right to marriage and family Article 17: right to own property Article 18: freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Article 19: freedom of opinion (commonly mistaken as freedom of speech) Article 20: freedom to peaceful assembly Article 21: the right to equal access to public service in their country Article 22: right to social security Article 23: right to choice of employment and work Article 24: right to rest and leisure Article 25: Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, Article 26: right to free education Article 27: right to cultural practices Article 28: everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized. Article 29: Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible. Article 30: no one can take away your rights Yes I know that was long, but it’s a bit of background for what I’m gonna explain. You CANNIT use your freedom of opinions/speech if your opinion/speech violates the right to no degrading treatment, no discrimination or other articles mentioned above. If your speech goes against another article, it is unlawful. Similarly, if you use your freedom of speech to tell someone they cannot speak or have an opinion (as long as that opinion is not degrading), this is also unlawful as u are taking away another’s human rights whilst using your own. Degrading treatment includes aggressive insults. Therefore, commenting harsh insults toward an artists work such as calling it “garbage” or “flops” is degrading treatment toward the idols and is not your freedom of speech. Saying “it isn’t my taste” is your freedom to opinion and does not violate any other article. Please remember the terms and conditions listed here for the UDHR before using an article as an excuse for your behaviour.

BP has like 3 main songs that use the formula but people think that's all they do bcoz of their small discography and because they're the most popular ones (their bsides and other titles are more diverse imo).. if they even had say 10 more songs no one would really be bothered by this

Something I don't like about people is that If you don't like it it isn't good in music,( and other things ) I loved celebrity when i first heard it ,cuz my vibe is more like that so let's say it wasn't your type that's all My opinion Everything that starts getting liked and supports by a good amount or half of the world it's becomes overrated for the people who don't get it or like it or who are tired of seeing people talk about it it's the truth ( most of the time cuz at times some things/ people are actually overrated)

I agree, you don't need to be super talented, you just need to fit the group. Just like Twice! The only exceptional one is Jihyo and maybe Nayeon but everyone work so well together.
