Had it been that the mother inlaw is a good mother, there is nothing bad in her staying with them especially because of her granddaughter for a while, not forever though because she must have the understanding that her son inlaw will one day remarry but as she said, she was there for a revenge, so Chris has to be careful in dealing with her but thank God, he was at the end been vindicated.

The mum-in-law knew exactly who the daughter was that she created. She was simply in denial and shame; and, past the blame of her guilt on to the husband. Like mother, like daughter. Both were drug addicts and wild. It seemed like they had mental issues too. Generational trauma is one of the themes to be explored.
