most professionally produced songs are, even if the singer and the recording are already good enough that autotune really doesn't make a noticable difference. these days there's good enough software, with enough settings to customize how much of it you want, that some form of autotune is honestly just a standard part of what makes good music production in most cases. autotuning is not the scandalous secret it was 20 years ago, it's industry standard. unless you're going for some intentionally-off-pitch ~indie~ vibe, that is.

Yeah, something about her voice here complemented Gura's voice really, really well. Props to the sound engineer. Also, I am _nasty_ fanatical for Gura's voice (lol) but Ina's voice in this one sounded legit amazing and I almost liked it more than Gura's? Dunno what it is but I like Gura's live voice better than her 'cleaned up' post-processed voice. At least based on this and Sorairo Days vs her several dozen karaoke songs (that I could probably sing word-for-word at this point.)

Something about Ame's voice in this song, especially "teardrop in my eye" just hits soo hard

I find myself regulary coming back to this song. I know that Kiara said a long time ago that she didn't really like the song but i personally thing this cover has so much power. I always lose one or 2 tears during that song because it always reminds me of everything that they all have acomplished and what the future might hold for them. But it also makes me somewhat sad because of " when its gonna end "- like feeling. I hope we will have many many more years of joy with the girls.

I'd like to think that management asked them what song they want to cover, and they all shouted "Country Roads" in unison.

The only thing I thought in Calli's part was Kiara calling her in the early hours of the morning after sleeping together.

All this talk or lore and significance and yet few speak of the fact that the artist here knew that Calli's cape was a hooded cloak long before any of us. Kudos.

i dont live in the states but something about this song is very reminiscence and emotional, all the memories and feelings just come out of nowhere

It's likely that was because Calli and Kiara were the only two in the same room when they were singing, so they could naturally harmonize with each other better as well.

That's all nice and good, she's a great singer and has a great voice but... You don't always go all out. That's not always a good thing. You should match the tone of the song and occasion and in cases of group covers also the energy of the people you sing with. It's harder to do when everybody is recording their part alone only to combine later separately of course. But my point is just that I like normal. I always feel like dumping all your energy into vocals to make them pop is kinda desparate and usually unnecessary. When you're good it will come off even when you aren't trying and it feels more natural that way. I guess I just kinda got sick of hearing people oversing the fuck out of hallelujah on shows like the voice. I like the song and it always drove me insane how much you can butcher its identity by exploiting it as your voice demo.

@@Mike23443 you clearly misunderstood what I meant. Also apologies for taking so long to respond. Didn't get a notification for your comment. I will say though, you seem to have completely misunderstood what I said. Calli isn't "singing harder" nor is she oversinging and neither of those are what I meant. I meant that she went above and beyond what she is normally comfortable with to make sure she went all out. Similar to the way Ame is singing this. Both of them were(not anymore, arguably) on the obvious bottom of the EN ranking when it came to singing. However, that doesn't mean they didn't try, and Calli tried above and beyond her genmates on this.

To be fair, it's only since Fallout 76 this became a meme song. It was taken pretty seriously prior. I have a feeling a certain gremlin masquerading as a cat shark and her fan base had a hand in this decision. Plus it's a folksy song known throughout the world with little politics or stigma attached, so I see it as a good candidate for a Holo cover.
