Erich, your brilliant!, it's so nice to find someone so skilled and who projects as a modest guy, I think you have a lot in common with John Denver, I am at a different place as a beginner musician, I love this and many more of John's songs, I sing quite well, but it's chords, strumming, and knowing the right time signature that I need help on, you make things very clear and you keep it light, I have watched a lot of your videos, and nearly all of them have helped me, well done sir and thank you Jon

It looks like you do the 1,2 then start but i am not sure. If I need to watch the video over and over I can do that to just ask. thanks Erich your humor encourages learning love it!!

G’day, Guitar Sage. This is one of my favourite songs of all time, ‘cause I’m a pretty ordinary singer & pretty ordinary guitarist, I find doing both at the same time very difficult. This is a nice easy strum with easy chord progressions & best of all, it’s in a key I can sing in... well sort of. Umm the dog joins in around the lift in the chorus... not sure if that’s a compliment or not. Anyhow, great explanation spot on with the strum pattern, & the chords are right! All in all a great video tutorial, thanks... some,of the other tutorials are Really, Badly wrong, or just plain miss stuff out. PS I’m enjoying the emails as well Cheers TimC

    FYI: when you are going over the chords for the chorus, you say and play G - D7 - Em - C - G - D - C - G, but the illustrations for the chords say G - D7 - Em - C - G - Em - C - G . Other than that great vid!

  • @exoressdelivers70

The capo raises the pitch of the song. So if you played the song without the capo you would be playing it in the key of G. But if you put the capo on the 2nd fret you may be playing chords found in the key G but the sound coming from the guitar is in the key of A which is the key John Denver sings it in.
